It's kind of yes and no. I live by a bunch of gay people but at the same time I also live by a ton of Mormons. I also live by some people who are really Christian but actually support gay marriage which is interesting. One gay dude had a pride flag on his front porch and it ended up getting destroyed and we think the Mormons across the street did it.

No, most of the folks here are tolerant, but not supportive.

I also noticed that most of the LGBT people I personally know have their own prejudices against other members. Before I identified as pan and agender, I first considered myself bi and female. One lesbian friend told me I might be happier with a man because I am a girl and it's implied on how she said it that she thinks bi women prefer men over lesbians (because lesbians don't have what men have). Most of them also assume that bisexual people are polysexual.

It's okay to hear harsh comments from homophobes, but to hear them from the LGBT community and be alienated is a lot worse IMO.

No, not really. Washington is considered to be a rather liberal state, but I've still seen a lot of homophobia here. Also, kids at my school still use gay as an insult.

I have lived in many places, most of them quite anti-LGBT. But thank God I am now on the rainbow coast (California) and at least have a chance being treated like a person here.

it depends where abouts in New Zealand you live. In auckland they have "big gay out" as well as a pride week but everywhere else its not really spoken about. I dont live in auckland and i go to a single sex school and a couple of the students date each other and theres no homophobia but like i said before, it depends in nz

I'm really grateful that the lgbt community is widely accepted in Belgium  of course there are always going to be people that aren't as accepting but for the most part the people I've met have been pretty supportive.

Here, people support the LGBT community. While not active, most people have nothing against it.

I'm a lucky person whose family for sure is supportive.

At school definitely not.. I was ostracised for it.
Family, definitely not. I am not yet out to them.
    Friends - have been a mix 50/50
Work colleagues - I'm only out to those who ask or if the topic comes up, and so far everyone has been supportive and not treated me differently which I am grateful for.

New Jersey, and tbh I don't really know. My friends are all supportive but my parents aren't and the general public seems to be mixed - since I am out but not accepted, it can be hard for people to tell whether I'm male or female (as that is how many people's minds work, excluding the possibility of they/them). This leads to confused/disgusted looks or people not even caring/reacting. It's really all over the place so who even knows.

The area where I live is somewhat supportive, though I'm on the more conservative side of the state.

Yes, it's pretty accepting. I've been coming out to more and more people and continuously get positive reactions. I'm really not worried at all whether or not people find out. Most of the people my age that I know are very accepting of LGBT+ people.

Nooope. I mean, I have a friend and a boyfriend I'm out to. But, the environment as a whole is what keeps me closeted.

I live in the Tennessee, where for the most part being LGBT is see as being 'weird' or against their beliefs.

London's all right. Not so sure about my area though, particularly with my family messing things up. I know that my parents' church is accepting of gay people but not trans people.

    Not at all.
I get the vibe that being trans here is means either be 100% stealth or fully pass, there can be no in-between.

Otherwise there is a high chance to be stabbed or beaten to death when you get home from work, by trans-phobic people who know you walk by a certain spot every day.

I'm from a small English town. The young people here are mostly quite supportive, but some are against LGBT people/relationships for religious reasons. I grew up in the church, and that wasn't great. As for older nonreligious people, it varies but I think most older people are okay with LGBT folk although they may find them weird. Not many outright homophobes.

My friends support me. My mom got used to the idea. My dad doesn't know, but him and I have some bigger issues to work out before I care to tell him. I don't really talk to my dad's side of the family much, and I haven't told my mom's side, but I think they are suspecting it, and they seem okay with it.

Yeah I guess. At my high school, there's some LGBT students. Everyone seems accepting
