Ever since I started to lose weight and focus on my looks, I've been called "cute" a lot, and on some occasions, "adorable".

While they are compliments, I can't but feel like I'm somehow sexually inept or something, especially with the term "adorable". Like I'm still a kid. I'd much prefer to be called "sexy" or "hot". Makes me feel more adult and much more attractive, I guess.

That one buzzfeed video about sexy vs. Cute sums it all up.

What do you guys prefer to be called, and why?

That's not to say I've never been called sexy before, but it's definitely a rarity. I have NEVER been called hot. Are people just not attracted to me in a sexual way?

I'm called cute a lot because I blush really easily and my friends think it's really funny, so obviously any chance they can get to make me blush they do. Also, it makes me feel like I'm 3. It gets annoying but so does sexy because I blush even more than if they say cute. I prefer hot or fit.

Cute, by far. But I'm pretty sure that's because I'm sex-repulsed. If someone called me sexy and meant it seriously, I'd probably start to gag or maybe even hit them.

It can really depend on my mood though, 'sexy' should be reserved for when I feel more 'animalistic'.

I think some people just tend to get labeled a certain way more often. It might be physical appearance. Your features strike others as more innocent or cute or mature and sexy. It could also be body language and personality, or all of it together. But just because your typically seen as cute does not mean your not seen as an adult or sexually desirable.

I can relate though. I don't mind either and I've been called both. But I get cute more often. I blame my chubby cheeks

I clicked the third option because honestly, I don't really like either term. (I'd rather be called "pretty" or something.) It depends on who was saying it, though. If a complete stranger called me "cute", I'd think it was weird, but if they called me "sexy" I'd be completely disgusted. But if it was somebody I liked, it would be different.

I'm too old to be cute, that's for kittens, puppies and babies.

It's hard (laughable?) to even think of myself as "sexy", and I've been called "cute" many times (mainly due to looking younger than my age, even at 25, I have maintained this), so my preference would have to be for the latter.

It could be worse, I think there's probably a lot of people who haven't been called either :/

The guy I'm seeing calls me cute all the time and I love it. Idk how I'd feel if he calls me sexy... sexy seems more of a term you'd use for lust, while cute is something a little more general and has a less "lusty" feeling to it. Cute doesn't have to be sexual, but sexy is only sexual.

Cute is better. (Says the person obsessed with cuteness, lol.)

And there's no way I'd believe them if they said I was sexy.

    Both are a compliment *shrug*

I have been called sexy and hot a lot,...waayyy more than cute..in fact i cant recall the last time someone thought i was cute

Even as a kid people thought i was 'sexy'which led to some shitty traumatizing experiences

Anyway, today most people tend to have lusty feelings when we meet for the first time and usually i do not like it because i might get into a relationship with someone that doesn't like my personality but rather, my sex appeal. I am a recovering sex addict due to playing the part that people perceive me as

i put on less revealing clothes but somehow most people imagine beyond the outward appearance

At the moment i try to value sex as the most important thing in a relationship thereby feeding my girlfriend's fantasies or a potential partners perception of me.

In the process, ive come to accept my appeal and as i am working on other aspects of my personality, i hope to create a balance so that we can have other things in common with my girlfriend rather than sex alone

In my opinion, masculine-presenting people tend to be better at being cute and feminine-presenting people tend to be better at being sexy. I would take either as a complement.

Cute. Strangers and acquaintances calling me sexy makes me a little bit unconfortable because I'm very ignorant to verbal cues and what if they're flirting with me? And I get that this isn't always the case, but what if it is?

    Cue confusion and social awkwardness.

    So...yeah, cute's fine thanks.

:icon_winkNow, it depends on who is calling me what, I like both, but it depends on the situation, whether I want to be called "cute" or "sexy."

If you ask me, I am both. :icon_wink

I guess the problem is the fact that cute tends to be a more universal term for people. A sexy guy can be cute, but can a cute guy be sexy?

    I dunno.
