I'd love to talk sports with whoever's out there. I like baseball, hockey, football, basketball and soccer (although I don't really know much about any soccer teams, I just like watching whatever game happens to be on) primarily but I'll watch other sports if I see them. We can talk about anything involving sports, whether it be NFL trade rumors or cute athletes. I'm from Detroit so my favorite teams are all the Detroit teams (yes, even the Lions) but I'll see if I can hold my own talking about other teams.

I love pro football! Tennis too. And some soccer. I like hockey and baseball in person, but not much on TV.

Congratulations! That was a hell of a World Series and I'm so glad the Cubs finally won it all. You guys are gonna contend for a while too, things are definitely looking up for the cubbies

    I love sports.

I only really keep up with the NFL and College Football when talking about American sports but I do watch the other major sports sometimes.

Just saw you're an Aussie, I watched an Australian football game one night at like 2 in the morning and I was surprised at how different it was. It honestly looked more like rugby than football (I watched a lot of olympic rugby when they were going on and really enjoyed that too; The style of tackling is different but I still can't fathom not wearing pads and shit for that haha). What NFL/College teams do you like?

    Lions vs Vikings will either:

Be a very competitive, close game with someone scoring late in the 4th to win the game

    or

The Vikings will destroy anything that looks like a lion

Only really into rugby tbh, used to watch soccer but the Premier Leauge in the uk is really bad for discipline and it's all money money money :/ although the rugby looks a lot more violent, I find it a lot friendlier than soccer. Especially amongst the fans as we are able to mix in the stands without killing each other!! Haha!! The banter is the best as well

I follow the Wings avidly - gotta get to a game in their final season at The Joe. I also follow the Tigers, but was disappointed that they didn’t make the Playoffs this year. The Pistons haven’t done well in years and I’m not a big basketball fan. I prefer college football to the NFL – the NFL is too much of a commercial enterprise to really seem like a sport to me anymore – but I’d root for the Lions if the Fords would ever get serious about developing a competitive team.

I love the Wings, they were the first team I ever got into. The Tigers are right on the cusp of really contending but the AL Central turned into one of the best divisions in the league in the course of 2 or 3 years. The Pistons are actually pretty decent now and they have one of the youngest teams in the NBA so (hopefully) they should be set for a while. Rooting for the Lions has probably taken a solid 5 years off of my life but I can't stop liking them. They tried really hard to lose the game today but they managed to win in OT. I also follow college football as much as I can, with my favorite teams being Michigan and Michigan State (I don't really have a preference towards either team anymore, I just want to see them both do well)

Another Australian here! I love AFL and am a Hawks supporter. The tackling I think is actually quite safe, the other team gets a free kick if they are tackled high (above the shoulders) so generally players avoid it and people don't get badly hurt. I'm not sure about NFL or rugby though, maybe they have similar rules?

I also watch cricket, do you get much coverage of that over in the States?

None at all haha... I don't know a lot about cricket but it looks like it'd be fun to play. I've also heard that sometimes games can take days to finish, is that true/common?

College football: Michigan (and therefore anyone playing Ohio State)
Pro: Chicago and any team with an Aussie punter

AFL is a completely different game to almost every other game so I will leave an explainer video below

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMZYZcoAcU0

I love the Hawks with a passion.

Next year should be interesting with all the trades we made.

    Cricket has three main forms

    20/20 - roughly 5-6 hours long
    one day - self explanatory
Test match - 5 days (can finish quicker than that)

Haha it's nice to see even people abroad hate Ohio State. I like Michigan and Michigan State, but I'll root for any school in Michigan. It's cool seeing Western Michigan seemingly come out of nowhere and now they're up to #14 with a 10-0 record. I don't really have any issues with the Bears, so that's cool. The only teams I really don't like in the NFL are the Packers and the Patriots haha

Uh, NO, it's not! I was born and raised in Columbus and on The Ohio State Buckeyes! So screw you guys! LOL!

Oh, and how do you find Ann Arbor coming from Columbus, Ohio? You go North until you smell it, then West until you step in it! LOL!

I'm mainly a hockey fan, the Vancouver Canucks are my hometown team but I also follow the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm not a big fan of the other leagues but I do follow the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL, and the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics in the MLB.
