I've been having problems with my mac lately, and while I've figured out how to keep it functional, the suspicious files keep popping back up whenever I turn on my computer. What would be the best program to help with that sort of thing?
I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable when it comes to Macs, but with my PC, I use Avast and Malwarebytes. They are both free and seem to work pretty well, and after doing a quick googling, they apparently have Mac versions as well.
I'm no computer expert, but I'm also far from a rookie. Anyway, in my experience, the best antivirus software is you. You have to be really careful about what programs you run. Anytime you open software that ends in ".exe" you need to be sure that it's coming from a secure source. I wonder, though, if maybe what you're really suffering from is adware? Sometimes, when you install free software, it comes with ads. I'm not sure if that's helpful at all. For what it's worth, I'm actually dealing with virus problems right now. I don't know what I did to infect my PC, but it definitely happened, so now I have to go and purchase a new copy of Windows. AAGGHH, it's so frustrating!
All active anti-virus programs are pointless. They rarely have to actually use their function, but it's running constantly and actually takes up a lot of performance to run. It's like wearing full body armor every time you go outside--sure, it will save you if you get shot and you might, but it's a completely nuisance at all times. It's better to just watch what you do with your PC and run malwarebytes manually every few weeks or when you fear something is awry with your system. Having an anti-virus constantly running and slugging up your system is a total waste of performance.
I would just use Malwarebytes, run it every so often and it'll do it's thing. It's what I have done for years and has kept all three of my computers healthy.
Well you went and got your computer an std (virus) because you forgot to use protection (antivirus) when you penetrated the internet XD ok but seriouslytry kaspersky
Anti-virus is more like wearing a condom every second of every day. If that's the alternative, it's better to not wear one, be careful about sticking your dick in crazy and go for an STD test once in a while.
Since viruses and malware aren't really written that often for mac devices (mostly because of how strict the code is), Avast will usually do the trick.
Malwarebytes hands down. I'm a compsci major so I get a little cred here to back that claim. Also clamav on Linux is very good.
Best way to keep you PC away from virus or trojan is never visiting untrusted sites, download crack/hacked/modded files. Once your Pc is infected with virus, get full version of antivirus software, never try free vers. They won't work.
