I felt the Bern, at least somewhat.. aside from that I lean toward a liberal mindset with a respect for the 2nd amendment, so I sorta get kicked at both ends :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'll second this. It's really rare but you aren't completely alone, at least in the whole country.

I'm a big fan of rational thinking and common sense. I live in the US, so yeah I have a very unpopular view of politics.

I'm a fan of equal rights and education, so I can't vote republican.
I'm a fan of guns and small government, so I can't vote democrat.

I'm vegan, a pacifist, and an atheist. And pro-LGBT+, though thankfully that isn't quite as unpopular anymore.

The US, I believe, is pretty divided on most issues. However, immigrants are pretty hated on by the majority. I believe that if you come in peace, you should be welcome to stay.

Yeah, unintentionally. Where do I start?

I believe you should vote for the candidate you align with not "the one you think will win"
Believe there's more sides to the coin than D or R
    Think Hillary is a psychopath
Fit in the gray area and am much more Green than Red or Blue
Bit of a Stein guy lol

But really I think people have a hard time being neutral such as I opposed to making statements and actions mainly off of emotion. Why I hate debating politics most of the time.

Also am atheist. Welcome different views but your religion shouldn't dictate the laws.

I'm sure almost all people that despise it don't even know what it is. Or that some of it is in our society anyways.

    -I'm an atheist.*
-I think humanity should stop destroying the environment before the environment destroys humanity. (I'm so koo koo crazy for thinking this, right?!)
-Being a pedophile should not be a crime, but acting on those attractions should. Not all of them actually rape children, and the ones who don't shouldn't go to jail for something that does not impact other people at all.

*Most people I know really don't care if you're an atheist as long as you aren't a jerk about it or think you're smarter than anyone who does believe. But they do have their initial shock; I've heard one person say, "OMG I can't believe you don't believe in God!" but she's okay with it now. I list this mostly because there ARE people in my country who are quite judgmental about this and will say you're going to hell for it. It's interesting how it's so similar to what you get for being LGBT.

I'm mostly conservative. Though, I'm more liberal when it comes to human rights. I'm conservative when it comes to the economy. I do not like Hillary. I do not like Trump. At this point, I'd be voting for Deez Nuts.

Oh, these ones for me, too.

People at school hate on me if they find out I'm an atheist. -_-' I've gotten cards encouraging me to become a Christian. I don't give anyone cards telling them to become an atheist; I just let them be...

I have a good friend who is a pedophile and I'm sick of people treating him like a child molester. He's a good person with strong morals! But they don't want to get to know him~.

Oh, this! I don't like guns. >.< At all. Although, at the same time, I can't imagine illegalizing them would actually do anything.

    ---------- Post added 28th Aug 2016 at 05:58 PM ----------

I thought of one more thing:

My stance on abortion is: "Both sides have good points and make sense." Everyone else seems to feel one way or the other.

Abortion and guns are two topics I get flak about because no one seems to think there is middle ground on them. Both sides of the argument seem to dislike me.

I am pro choice, that doesn't mean I think abortion clinics need to be like Starbucks and McDonald. Where there are three or four in every town. But there are cases and circumstances where women should have that option and be able to get one in a safe place and it be performed by a trained medical person.

I am pro gun, but I am down with some common sense, well thought out regulation. I had to pass a background check to work in the medical field as a home health care equipment provider. And had to have an even more in depth back ground check to get a hazardous materials endorsement for my commercial drivers license. I can wait five days and pass a background check, that is fine by me. Also Idaho and Texas' open carry is just freaking retarded. You should take the damn concealed carry course and get a license.

Somewhat. Quite a bit of people believe in some things that I do, then only a handful of people would agree on some things.

For example, most people here are against abortion unless it's life threatening to the mother or if it was a result of sexual assault. Many disagree that if contraception fails, the woman must keep the baby and be forced to start a family even when she's not ready. Also the stigma for single mothers is very high, to make things worse. Abortion is illegal here, though there are few exceptions like sexual assault. Giving away the child for adoption is NOT an option in the culture. I really think that free abortion should be allowed.

This came as a big shock to me when I moved to where I am now.

So I just touched on a heavy material, this is just one of the things I'm concerned about.

Um... I'm British and I voted for us to leave the EU.

Before anyone says it, my decision had literally nothing to do with immigration, hell, my own family is largely made up of immigrants. I voted to leave because I didn't like that the British government was controlled by European businessmen and Belgian law.

You might say that isn't an unpopular decision seeing as "leave" won out in the end, but actually, amongst my age group it is so unpopular that I didn't dare tell some of my "friends".

This is the way I feel also. I've also been accused of fence sitting or being a middle of the roader. I've also heard that you don't support this or that candidate or party platform that you are "the enemy." It's like some people think being a moderate is a dirty word, because you don't support all of what they believe in. I have some firm opinions on some things, but they're based on common sense instead of just taking one extreme side or the other. I feel like the extreme sides of both parties have taken over the two largest political parties. You can't be for something like LGBT rights, while being against something you don't support, it's a bad package deal on both sides. There was a show on CBS called "brain dead", and it has seemed at times this year that the way some people acted politically in that show wasn't that far off than what real people are saying, on both sides. :frowning2:

I wonder if this had something to do with most recent polls just prior to the vote. Was that poll anonymous, or public? I've had people tell me in the US that they are planning to vote for Clinton or Trump, but aren't telling their friends or mentioning it in polling because of where they live or who they associate with. They don't want to get into a political argument about it, which is what would happen if they were honest and open about it.

Hillary Clinton had some advice recently that if you knew someone was going to vote for Trump that her supporters should stage an intervention, friends don't let friends vote Trump, etc. Similar things are happening with some Trump supporters, cajoling and pressuring people to vote for him. I know someone who said something in a poll different than the way that person is planning to vote simply because their spouse was present, and a big supporter of the other side. That person didn't want to lie, but didn't want to get grief and shamed from it from their spouse.

I'm pretty much in line with the views and policies of our current government. Quite satisfied with them, too. The government, that is.
