My real name is Kennedy but I don't know whether to change it or not. I like my name. I don't see it as a female name but when I transition I want it to go with my male gender. Would you consider Kennedy to be a male name too?
I'd actually see it as more masculine anyway, and if you like it then I don't see why you shouldn't keep it.
Hyper masculine name if you ask me. No need to change it! But if you wanted to create the distinction when/if you transition, then it wouldn't hurt to change it. Totally up to you.
Thanks guys, I'd happily keep it, i see it as the only thing that's manly about me I just needed abit of reassurance
I've never even heard of Kennedy being a feminine name so you definitely got some good luck there. Also the shortened versions like Ken or Kenny are also really masculine.
I like it. If you want to keep it that is awesome. A lot of people like to change their name even if it is unisex just to kind of distance themselves from their birth gender, but I imagine it would be way more convenient if you could keep the same name, so if you are comfortable with it keep it! I think that would be a cool name for a guy or a girl. And yeah you can go by Ken or Kenny.
