After over 20 years in the closet, I have finally stopped hiding from my family. I told my mom about 4 months ago.. She suspected it long ago, but is still going back and forth about being accepting and trying to push me back into the closet. She did meet my girlfriend though, a couple months ago. I told my father by email. He replied, "That's great. Can we meet her next time we are up? " They only come to my state a couple times a year.. A few of my aunts and uncles know, Most of them I talk with less than once a year, so I'm really not going out of my way to tell them.. Not hiding it either!
Hey those are great news! Congratulations! The first few times are kind of nerve wrecking, the couple dozen afterwards can still be a bit hard, but eventually it becomes second nature. Welcome to the other side, lots of great things to look forward to.
