Young people who don't like modern music? Now that's something I've never heard before! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Agreed. What kind of cruel joke is dementia? Does aging have to be traumatic?

I would eliminate any auto-immune disease. I suppose I can accept the existence of pathogens, but diseases where the body destroys itself for no reason...why must those exist?

Someone mentioned eliminating hell: I would eliminate Pascal's wager.

Either bigotry, ignorance or Alzheimer's. Can't decide between the 3.

    Corruption.

No more corrupt politicians, no more corrupt policemen, no more corrupt businessmen, etc. What needs to get done will get done, because the people with power will behave responsibly and truly in the best interests of those they ought to serve without ever going off the rails.

All the CO2 humans have released into the atmosphere since the start of the industrial revolution.

Cows and volcanoes have released exponentially more, though; we should start with them.

Where does one begin? As a gay man, I would like to see the elimination of prejudice and bigotry against the LGBT community, but I would also like to see the elimination of HIV. Hard to make a choice.

Cancer has ripped into my family and caused me so much pain, so I'd like to see it eliminated too.

In all honesty, I could write a list.

    Guns...

They give too much power to too little people.

Every bullet hurts many people other than intended target.

Then there is cancer of course.

Stopping here... no need to write a list, right?

Definitely intolerance. It's the one thing that causes the most hate, fear and violence in the world. The craving of power is a pretty bad thing as well though.

I think politics are inevitable to be honest. A state without any politics would mean no rules, and without rules you end up with a dystopia. Eventually, somebody has to lead, then people contest that leadership... It's not something you can just get away from.

I'd want a world without poverty, I think. Or without intolerance, or disease... But it all ties together, doesn't it? Poverty and bigotry are definitely linked, for example.

Can I also say religion? I'm not trying to be edgy or start shit, but if you ask me religion has done way more harm than good. Homophobia, sexism, racism... A lot of it isn't just fear of the unknown, it's because holy scriptures and the like literally preach that shit. Just because a bigot isn't religious doesn't mean that bigotry doesn't stem from religion, and similarly, just because a religious person isn't necessarily a bigot doesn't mean that religion can't be dangerous.

For the record, I know that a lot of religious people are peaceful, and I also know that terrorist groups like ISIS are not representative of entire religions.

Disclaimer: I have no problem with religious people at all as long as they don't use their beliefs as an excuse to be horrible. What I do have a problem with is all the hatred religion has caused.

    *Waits to be yelled at*

I won't yell at you, but I will slightly disagree with some of your points.

As much as I agree that human civilization does better with a rational, just, and ordered structure of living, I think there's much to be improved upon in our current government. I would also like to see poverty be a nonexistent issue, hopefully one day it will happen. And yes there's evidence that people who are in poverty or from less developed areas are more likely to be violent, uneducated, bigoted, etc but it's not always true.
People from all walks of life can be bigoted sadly, I would certainly like that to disappear.

As for religion, I'm not fond of it (I do find it interesting to discuss/study). My biggest problem comes with the organized structure of religion and the people who head it believing it has any place in society outside of a church, or place of worship. And of course religious fanatics, but all fanatics are pretty insane. I might get backlash for this one actually.

When I first looked at this thread I immediately thought I would eliminate hatred. The more I thought about it I'm not so sure. I think hate is a terrible emotion. At it's core it rarely (if ever) leads to much good but at the same time it's such a base human emotion, I don't know if it'd be ok to get rid of it. Hatred born from fear and ignorance, hatred directed at another human being without warrant that should be gone though.
So I guess I'd say war. To have hatred to the point of going to war or any reason really imo is uneseccary. There may have been times in the past where there seemed to be no other choice, and that may have been true. I just don't believe any good comes from war.

Geez that got real philosophical, sorry about that.:icon_redf

Oh dear, I just realised how elitist that must have sounded, sorry! I don't mean that poor people are bigoted, not at all! I just mean that a lot of people who are against - for example - immigration tend to be people living in poor, overcrowded areas, scared that "the immigrants are taking all our jobs!" That's the sort of thing I've seen from people living in poverty in this country, at least - just an observation.

I also agree that governments could be improved upon a lot, yes - I just don't think it's rational to not want any politics at all, unless people would rather be living in anarchy, which surely isn't nearly as fun as it sounds. Maybe I'm not differentiating well enough between "politics" and "the government".

Yeah, same here. It's not that I hate every single aspect of religion, I realise the benefits it has, but it certainly has no place in the law.

Flesh, which will also eliminate death, sickness and the need for surgery.

I'd trade this body for a cyborg's anyday.
