Letters To Your Younger Self

1. Get your god damn depression treated. Yes, you have that.
2. You're not better than other people just because of your music taste.
3. Don't be such a pushover.
4. Maybe try and be a little less mean?
5. You're going to be okay.

 

Ignoring paradoxes...

I would recommend 'The Satanic Bible' to my younger self. I read it when I was 15 and I wished I'd read it sooner!

 

They are not worth your time. Save yourself, and stop waiting for someone else to do it for you.
You don't have to be perfect. Stop trying.
You'll be free of them one day, keep on dreaming.

You are so insanely awesome. Embrace it! Don't try to be like the boring people. You are so much cooler than they are. Tomboys are cooler than everyone else. Also, please stop stressing about labeling your sexuality. It is fine to say that you like girls and are not sure if you like guys. The guys at that school are very hard to like, but the ones at your new school aren't like that. You should come out as liking girls so you can see the homophobes' reactions. It will probably be hysterical! Also, there is nothing wrong with being introverted, no matter what your mom says! You are just so incredibly awesome!!!

Dear past self, here are some things I'd like to say.

1. Hey, you're bisexual. That will probably explain some weird feelings that are going on.
2. Hold onto your friends, and don't isolate yourself. Cause at this point they've left.
3. Write more, be creative, don't let your fear of being judged leak into one of the only fun things you do. Because when it does, it takes a long time to get it back.
4. Open up more. You should've told him your feelings, even if it was awkward. Yes, him.
5. Don't worry about life too much. You're probably too young to be thinking about existentialism, absurdism, nihilism, etc. I mean, seriously, you got pretty obsessive during a depressive time, even if these things did introduce you to some great books.
6. Guess what! You get a scuba diving license! It was really fun, until you had to go with some idiot and almost drowned...yeah, future you isn't diving anymore.

This could go on and on, but at this point I just want to think about what I've learned from my past, good and bad, so that I can face the future with a positive attitude.
