I just read the newest update this morning, and about that young singer. It's all just a horrible travesty. The loss of life is overwhelmingly saddening. Gun laws should be handled differently. I don't believe just anyone should be able to easily obtain an assault rifle and carry it around. I could go on about proper prevention and safety protocols. I read in this case the gunman could have possible terrorist affiliation too. I'm just sorry this had to happen at all and my deepest condolences go out to anyone affected by these terrible events.
Tragic, senseless loss of life and injuries... My heart mourns for the families of those affected by a lunatic's actions, whether that lunacy is religious, hate-based, or something else. Don't buy into the terror... Be safe, but do not cower. Instead, be proud, be strong, be brave and remember that the Omar's of the world do not speak for an entire religion, race or nationality; just as we are beautifully diverse. Semper Fidelis, ~Em
Banning guns is not going to prevent things like this from happening. Law abiding folks should be punished because of some bad seeds.
Oh god, there were that many fatalities? Just awful. Possibly.. Depends. I agree to an extent. Gun accessability certainly isn't the root cause of these shootings.. Err, let's not go there.
You should look at that the_donald subreddit (well, probably not, it's disgusting), they're pretty much celebrating the attack as a victory for Trump.
What the hell is wrong with you? - How the hell can someone just go in and end 50 peoples' lives just like that? I don't get it. 50 people just out to have fun and live a little in a place that was supposed to be safe and inclusive... I used to live there too... So I even find myself wondering if some of my old friends were involved...
From everything I'm seeing, he had high capacity weapon(s) one with at least 30 rounds. Also SWAT did not have the fatal exchange with the shooter until 3 hours after the initial shooting. Granted, we don't know over what time frame all 103 people (50 dead 53 injured as of right now) were shot and whether or not law enforcement had exchanges with him beforehand
Actually, not sure Trump benefits from this. I would think the only way he would benefit is if he actually had embraced the LGBT community. Which he has not. The tragedy is already difficult enough. To see how this will used politically will be nauseating.
With 53 reported dead (this could change, of course), this is the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. The perpetrator is of Afghani descent, and apparently he was "on the radar" of U.S. officials. But as always, that doesn't prevent tragedy. He may or may not have had Islamist extremist views, but that hasn't been corroborated yet. But this story just has everything, doesn't it? Homosexuals, guns, Islamism...
wow just wow physically, it's not hard to kill alot of people while in the middle a huge crowd when there's three different stereo's blaring and you've got an AR-15 morally, you have to be extremely deranged
Trump never really condemned LGBT rights. He seems to just avoid the issue altogether. So Trump really could benefit from this if he takes his chance to do so. ---------- Post added 12th Jun 2016 at 10:31 AM ---------- I heard he used an assault rifle, which is illegal in the US.
I feel like such an asshole. When I saw this on the news I made a joke. That was before the kill count showed up. God I'm an asshole.
He used an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle, which can only fire one round per pull of the trigger, and is legal in almost all US states. An assault rifle is fully automatic, meaning it can fire multiple rounds with only one trigger pull, and is strictly regulated by the federal government. A lot of people use the term "assault rifle to refer to AR-15s, but this is a misconception.
According to the news at the moment he was carrying his AR-15 legally. Please someone explain to me again how a stricter gun control wouldn't make it more difficult to mass murder people. No individual needs to carry an AR-15. No one.
I just heard about that. Its a real tragedy, I'm very upset. :icon_sad: Specially felt worse when i saw that some people here in the Persian forums says that they're happy because homosexuals deserve this. :icon_sad: They don't stop to insulting even in this situation. :| I just came here after a while to share this bad feelings, so maybe it make me feel better. I don't exactly how that is for Americans, But i really feared, so I can guess how nightmarish that is for Americans.
This is so terrible. It is now the largest mass shooting in US history, with 50 dead and 53 injured. I am keeping the families and friends of those who have been impacted by this in my thoughts during this time.
