Do you have a hobby that's stereotypically seen as for the opposite gender?

    Honestly, I think that most of my hobbies are pretty gender-neutral: the first three off the top of my head were reading, writing, and playing bass guitar.

    I do love video games, though - although I prefer ones with a story line, whereas most boys that I've met (not to generalise!) seem to prefer ones where you just kind of run around killing people. My brother and his friends are obsessed with Call of Duty, then again, I loved the Assassin's Creed multiplayer.

    That said, I think that baking is my natural calling as - if I do say so myself - I'm pretty good at it, and that is a pretty feminine hobby. I literally made a lemon tart a few hours ago and I can't stop eating it.

    I've recently got back into Dungeons and Dragons, which (twist!) is with a lady gamer group! The organizer formed it because she wanted a space that was less male oriented. I'm also into sci-fi which tends to be seen as more masculine. Being immersed in these subcultures though, I can say that there are plenty of women here, too :slight_smile: .

    Playing video games but I guess considering the fact that it seems like every girl in existence plays video games it should probably stop being considered a gender specific hobby. Just something fun to do! Story based roleplaying games are great! The games even often have customizable character models! :eusa_danc

    Lately, I really wanted to make bracelets and stuff.

    Also writing. And apparently learning languages is feminine (though for me, it's creating them, and apparently a lot of conlangers are LGBTQ).

    I don't know if this counts, but I enjoy rock-climbing. I haven't been able to recently due to a knee injury, but it's still one of my favorite things.

    Hmm... Not sure which area I qualify for..

    But I enjoy martial arts and basketball..
    Although it's a love/hate relationship. I hate getting stronger for some reason, or remotely looking more muscular..

    (Also I noticed ballet, and I can tell you that only the manliest of men do ballet, I mean heck all dancing; bruce lee was a legendary cha cha dancer!)

    Wow~ you all have such active hobbies~~

    Hmm, well, I look really cutesy, but I love gratuitous cursing... I've been called every name in the book, even by my parents, so I feel totally immune to cursing~ And I love the shock of some macho guy hitting on me and getting rejected by a slew of sailor talk XD;;;;;

    I also love cars~~ like, I think some girls are because they always say girls are attracted to cars? But, like, seriously... some cars I'm just like, "Whoever is driving that... get out and love me and then give me the keys" XD;;;;; I also had a total, super old, p*mp car as a teen, so I really like revving engines and racing... which is probably why I had to go to court for reckless driving... omg this got way too deep too quickly... XD;;;;;;

    I don't see why these hobbies are gender specific but if it's generalized stereotypes, I have a few.

    -Video Games, I love playing pretty much all categories but adventure/platformer's are my favorite.

    -Anime, again all kinds but I have a soft spot for shonen

    -Physical activities, I enjoy working out and being fit. Martial arts and other physical disciplines. Camping, hiking, rock climbing. Pretty much anything outside.

    -Playing guitar, I legitimately don't see why this is a masculine thing.

    I also like cars though I don't know so much about them. I couldn't fix one but I can change my oil and my tires.:grin: I love motorcycles, sadly I currently don't own one (working on it) on top of all this I'm an adrenaline junkie so anything fast is awesome. I sometimes wonder if I should become an extreme stunt person!

    There's more I'm sure, but that's off the top of my head.

    I don't think so.
    I guess the only thing that counts would be probably that I enjoy make up and painting my nails, and that I'm fond of frills etc.
    except this, basically everything about me is masculine.

    I do not know whether this would be a hobby or whether it fits the mold of the question being asked but I love watching awards shows especially the ones that are acting based like The Oscars,The Emmys, and The Tonys. people have said it is a bit weird to have a hobby like this (people tell me it is more of a girly thing to watch awards shows but this opinion doesnt hold weight to me) but I find award shows fascinating. Make up is another hobby and reading fashion magazines too.

    I know more about makeup than the average male. I know about contouring and stuff but I don't know how to do it.

    Hmmm, I have plenty of feminine things I do, for example: I love to apply nail polish and makeup to myself(although I'm not very good at it), I love shopping, shopping for anything really(includes hair care products, skin care products, clothes, DVD's of movies and TV shows(the only one that is masculine in nature), I love baking cakes because the end result is so delicious and yummy.

    But then I have equally as many masculine hobbies, for example: I love strategy turn based games with elements of real time strategy, I love building vast empires in video games and that extends to creating my own worlds as well.

    It seems most of my other hobbies and interests are a combination of both feminine and masculine. So I basically have a single masculine interest and a whole lot more feminine interests.
