So I was talking with my sister today. She is four years older than me and although we are not as close as we could be (partly due to geographical reasons) we still share stuff and have a good relationship.

Anyway we messaging over skype and suddenly I just blurted it out, told her that I am not straight. She was a bit surprised at first and asked if I am a lesbian or something else, and I said I don't know for a fact for the rest of my life but that at the moment and for quite a good while I have been attracted to only women. She was cool with that and just said you can be with whoever you want, it makes no difference to me, and that was that and we moved on to other topics.

She is the first of my family I have come out to and it made me glad how it wasn't a big deal at all. Like it shouldn't be.

That's brilliant! Well done you! Exactly the kind of response we all hope for!

I recently came out to my best friend, she reacted like your sister, wasn't phased at all.
Off to bed, so tired just wanted to say well done! Night

Good for you! Congratulations! I love my sister a lot too and consider her to be one of the first people I want to come out too. She lives far away geographically from me too. So I can totally understand how happy you would've felt that she was so accepting.
