    I don't particularly care for kids either. I don't have patience for little kids. If I did ever have kids, I'd probably adopt.

    Lesbian here, and I don't want kids either. And one of the posters here said that mental illness ran through her family which is actually the same for me, and I really do not want to pass that down. Plus, pregnancy creeps/grosses me out. And also, having kids would mean you'd have to "settle down", but I don't really want to, I wouldn't have the time/freedom to do the things I want to do. They're a lot of work.

    Has anybody had that time when a family member who doesn't know you are lez/bi come up to you and start raving about how they can't wait to see you get married to the perfect man and start a family? That happens to me way too much.

    To me that logic makes no sense. I also don't like it when people bingo me and say "you'll change your mind." It isn't anybody's place to tell me what to do with my body and life. I've had friends who have not wanted kids all their life and they are now in their late 40s and still don't want any, happily married, and don't care.

    I've had my dad do that to me. He'd say things like "one day you'll meet a prince who'll sweep you off your feet." Little does he know it's a princess I want to marry.

    I've known I didnt want kids since I was a child. They always scared me when I younger and to this day I still have no desire for children. Thank god my siblings gave my parents grandchildren! :grin:
