I have always wanted to learn how to code but i have no idea where to begin. I want to have an understanding of it before i decide to enroll into a program at the community college.

    Any advice/opinions?

Hey sweetie, when you do, you should learn Python for native application development and NodeJS for web application development. :3

As others have said above: Code Academy.
It has practical projects as well as code tutorials.

Yeah, would definitely suggest code academy, but I also like 'Learn Python The Hard Way' book which I think you can get free online.

Just remember to keep at it, and you'll be fine

Im here to support Python since its so easy to learn!

If u intend to be more "serious" programmer would also recommend learning C, so u'll get to know the insides of your code better ^^

For Microsoft native development, there's also the Microsoft Virtual Academy.

    https://mva.microsoft.com/

If you want to make C++ or C# applications for the Windows GUI, that's a good place to go (though you will do best to start with the video tutorials that teach text-based programming before trying the graphical programming tutorial videos).
