I just really hate those people that go around acting all ghetto and using the word n***** at every possible chance I'm not even black and I take offense to this I just hate when people go around with the mindset "oh lol how cool I am n***** hey n***** look at this n*****"
and even though they're white they use "white boy" as an insult how the hell is that an insult you're a white boy too!!!

At my school, white people listen to rap and hip hop music and I'm just like, "Okay...?" I think it's annoying when they try to act black.

I see the problem with the OP but listening to a certain kind of music doesn't mean they're 'trying to act black'. Music is for everyone. Sure it might originate in a certain place but you don't need to be a specific race to listen to it.

Luckily in the UK we don't get much of the n word. We have the chavvy black scene that white boys try to impersonate still though. I mean they look stupid and people are laughing at them so that's good enough for me.

I try not to judge people for acting certain ways.

Where I live there are a lot of white boys who act that way. There are also a lot of black boys who act like typical white skater boys.
One of the way to end hate and racism is to stop saying a person of a certain skin color have to act and behave in a certain way. That is the real stupid thing.

As someone who's black I really take no offense to people like that I know the difference between harmful play and malicious intent.

To me their behavior is eh, just a personality they've adopted. It's the idea of saying they "act/talk black" that sets race relations back. There is no acting like a race, only like stereotypes of that race. They're stereotypes I wish would go away.

How can one set of behaviours be unique to black people, and why can't a white person act like that if they're into rap music, and such? How are white people supposed to act anyways?

I'm black i see tons of those guys everywhere i am even friends with a few wiggers they don't bother me and the are mostly harmless. Then again this is a stereotype every race has gangsta and ghetto people. It gets tiring when people stereotype gangsta and ghetto to black people.

This. So if a black guy puts on a suit and tie and speaks proper English, is he "acting white"? He wouldn't be white-acting anymore than a gay guy that hates musicals is "straight-acting".

I thought this thread was about people like Rachel Dolo something.
    But this, doesn't bother me.

I don't have an issue with anyone acting a certain kind of way as long as it's genuine; if you're acting in a particular fashion for any reason other than "you just being who you are" then I will have a problem with you b/c it's an act/phony/fake/fraudulent.

How exactly is listening to a certain genre of music acting black?

Actually, how can anyone act black?

I dont see why people brand certain things as being "White" or "Black", in a world that we live in that very multicultural and that is trying to make everyone equal sure brand a lot of stuff to belong to a certain culture/race.

    I pity them

I never really associate the word 'chav' with black people.. in my mind it always conjures up images of young white men wearing tracksuits.

Anyway, it can go both ways - I've been told by some black people that you can be accused of 'acting white' if you speak 'proper English'.

Yes there isn't a certain way to behave for each race/ethnicity, but you can't deny the fact that there are certain behaviors more common in certain ethnicities, i'm not racist -and i don't even think i have to state this- but the average black person is indeed louder than any other average person from any ethnicity i've came across, it's a cultural thing mixed with upbringing circumstances, not all of them, of course, but the vast majority. stereotypes are there for a reason. and black people generally come across as more "lively" to me, so that could play a part of it. btw, i'm not even american/british, but there's a good percentage of black people where i live, and the way people stereotype african americans aren't that different from the way black people act here. some stereotypes are BS, some are true.

I just see it as changing times. I'm sure if we looked back on our younger days we'd see we were no different really.
Not in the way of acting different in terms of colour necessarily though.

I don't get offended by it.
