    The Kids Are Alright

The LGBT wasn't the focus of the film, which is what I liked, but the story line wasn't that great and didn't have much adventure in it.

What was the name of that movie where "seductive pseudo-lesbians" seduce a good/honest professor and later try to defraud him?

No, I don't mean the one with Keanu Reeves, I'm talking about an old sequel to another cheap movie.

Me, too! Anyone else get the feeling that it was filmed entirely for the male gaze?

I dont remember the name of the movie but there was this gay dude with his girlfriend. They made a pact with each other to not kiss anybody they both liked and they liked every hot guy they saw on the street. (Not judging their characters at all! )

Sigh, materialism and stereotype galore that movie.

I loved this movie and thought it was hilarious. Very watchable movie.

The worst I think I've seen is Hawaii. Dreadfully slow paced.

Errrr, and MY gaze! I love it haha. I do get what you mean though, it had a weird pervy feel to it at times, but I felt like it was because it felt like I was intruding on their private life... it was sort of real. I mean it was very un-stereotypically sexy... I don't think if you were making a film about lesbians for men to perv over you'd make it as odd and candid as BITWC. Obviously, the director was male and Lea Seydoux wasn't quite happy with him, but I think he had a pretty deep vision that went beyond whether or not he was perving over them. And if he was, I wouldn't blame him because so was I. What I would have a problem with is if there was no substance to the film other than male fantasy. This is not the case. Love the film.

In answer to the question... I really haven't watched enough to decide haha.

Touch of Pink! I'll never forget going on what was arguably one of my first actual dates with a guy when I was 20 and seeing this and just hating it. Like, here we are young and in Chelsea in Manhattan on a date just trying to get our gay on, and the perfect movie option ends up being awful. The cinephile in me was in tears.

In case you've not heard of it, here's the description:

Alim (Jimi Mistry) is a gay man living in London to escape the domineering eye of his conservative Muslim mother, Nuru (Suleka Mathew), back in Canada. Alim keeps his homosexuality secret from his mother, so when she comes for a surprise visit, he and his boyfriend, Giles (Kristen Holden-Reid), must put on a straight facade to hide the truth. Throughout all this turmoil, Alim imagines himself talking to the spirit of Cary Grant (Kyle MacLachlan) as a means of coping with the stress.

    THE SPIRIT OF CARY GRANT....UGHHHHH

Blue Is The Warmest Color didn't seem real to me. I mean I believe the actresses were good, and the movie touched a bit on struggles GLBTQ have coming out of the closet in regards to Adele. It also showed how sexuality can be a tough thing to label in regards to Adele's relations with both males and this lesbian, thus probably confusing the character even more. But that's the best of it. The rest of the movie came across more like a heteronormative lesbian porn film for men. That's my opinion of course.

Agreed, GBF was never going to win any Oscars but it has a nice not too serious feel good factor to it.

Hawaii - Yes it was slow paced but it was pleasant enough, though I was certain there was going to be a suicide ending to it. I was wrong :icon_bigg

The worst LGBT movies are in my opinion the big budget mainstream ones, made for a straight audience. 'Brokeback Mountain' or 'In and Out' anyone.
