Cowgirl in the Sand by Neil Young! It's been my favourite song for quite some time, and no matter how many times I listen to it, it never gets boring or annoying, and always holds this kind of novelty for me.

Around 4:15 is one of my favourite parts. Actually the whole instrumental section between the first and second verse is beautiful. Prime stuff. And then the echo on the lyric "hello ruby in the dust" gets the hair on the back of my neck standing on end. Every time :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The fade out is also just  and the bass! there's too many parts to name them all, but the whole song is just great. (Also when did rock stop having lengthy instrumental sections? Current day rock is too lyric driven if you ask me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

Oh, and Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. I feel like that one is more understandable in its chill-giving, so I won't explain it.

In all of them, the lyrics hit me really hard. These are really personal to me.

In addition, this:

Her voice in this song just makes me shiver. Also, lyrics speak to me as well.

If It Kills Me, by Jason Mraz. Probably because it was the theme song of at least 5 years of my life. I managed to pick myself up and move on, but whenever I hear this song I can't help but feel a shiver. Memory lane isn't always a good thing.

It is so calming and the lyrics are really meaningful. reminds me of my boyfriend being in the hospital and being by his side, than he passes away. Depressing I know.

Damn, that entire album must hit home hard~~

I'd just turned 14 when I first heard this and the vocal section properly freaked me out. I think it's for that reason that I didn't listen to them again until I was 16 when their second album came out.

A song about a kid with cancer dying, and seeing how the mom deals with it by turning to religion. Regardless if you're religious or not, I'm not btw, the album deals with the different ways that people approach tragedy and sadness and it's amazing. I get chills when he yells "January 19." I don't even need to hear the next line to know what happened.

Aesop rock is great. "Water Tower" is one of my favorite songs off of his last album, and this one is also about death and gives me some chills. Differently than "I See Everything," more thought provoking than sad. A line that sums that up is "An older me would note that whether disposable goldfish Or theist, we certainly become the earth as equals in a circle."

The songs Exit Music (For a Film)" and "Climbing Up The Walls" and "No Surprises" by Radiohead. Don't want to link all of 'em cause then I'd start to take up a lot of space. Anyway, most of these are sad, creepy, about death, or a mixture. Real happy stuff. But in all seriousness these songs still give me chills at certain points, and not a lot of songs can do that.

Everytime by Britney Spears. I don't know if the dramatic music video influenced my decision, but it's such an emotional ballad. The piano riff, the melody, the emotional lyrics...just perfect.

"Holy water cannot help you now
A thousand armies couldn't keep me out
I don't want your money
I don't want your crown
See I have to burn your kingdom down

Holy water cannot help you now
See I've have to burn your kingdom down
And no rivers and no lakes can put the fire out
I'm gonna raise the stakes, I'm gonna smoke you out

Seven devils all around me!
Seven devils in my house!
See they were there when I woke up this morning
And I'll be dead before the day is done"

I just came across this minutes ago and it stole my breath. The song itself is alright, but the two of them together, wow.
