That's interesting. The comments doe..... I mean, it's good but so many people are taking this as an attempt to control the government. Like, what's up with some of this stuff? I'm personally glad that Disney, Marvel, and lots of other people are standing against this stuff.

The comments. My gosh, the comments. :bang:

More religious nutcases pushing for it to be legal to discriminate against us. It's about basic human respect - "I may not agree with what they're doing, but it isn't hurting me personally so I'll let them". By denying us that you essentially believe we are lesser beings. And they believe that even - calling homosexuality an 'abomination' and such.

I'm going to engage in anti-corporate cynicism because that makes me edgy and cool! Right? Right??

Can I just say I hate my state first of all?

Here's the way I see it: The more people to pull out of the state in reaction to the law, the better. Eventually they'll realize they're doing something wrong... at least I'd hope.

I agree with you. I have hope that capital flight is going to continue to cause problems for bigots with political power.

I certainly don't relish the idea of corporations and other large private institutions totally controlling our lives, but it's nice, in a way, to see that they are beginning to provide certain checks against democracy, which is growing increasingly shitty given the moral degradation of the electorate.

Because Georgia is one of those locations that's cheap to film in and companies do shooting there, I think. Not sure if any filming is done in NC.

Georgia is where the walking dead for instance is shot among a number of Hollywood films.

So yea if Disney says no, then others will not be far behind.

Are we gonna act like there's no gay scene in ATL? I take it as you never know who's what on the spectrum 100% and we all benefit from each other. I'm for people having their beliefs but trying to make it a right to discriminate against others for their orientation or gender identity is wrong.

Because there's lots of gay Disney and Marvel characters and Disney isn't run by an ominous shadow organization?

The NFL also threatened to pull Atlanta from the Super Bowl bids if this were passed. The Falcons currently have a 1.4 billion dollar stadium under construction to help win them the bid. Losing the SB wouldn't go over too well.

I'm honestly surprised this is coming from Disney given that the founder (Walt Disney) is well known for discriminating against people. Looking at his (rather strong and public) hatred for Jewish people, it's nice to see this pattern hasn't continued to this day.

It's nice to see businesses fighting for what is right in this day and age... We really need it as often times local/state government officials are getting even more extreme with their anti-tolerant rhetoric and actions against minority groups fighting for equal rights. Way to go Disney! :eusa_danc

The Walking Dead and several others announced they would pull out of the state as well! Woot!

I don't know how feasible this is, but I think the NFL would send a far more potent message if they said "OK, the Falcons are playing all their games on the road until this is done away with". Not relocating the team temporarily but having all their games in Atlanta suddenly become trips to their opponents grounds.

Could do the same thing with the Panthers.
