Well, one says sitting around feeling sorry for yourself won't change anything, but how is that any different from sitting around waiting for a better tomorrow? Sure, you could do that and in all probability others will enact the change that you will benefit from, but surely at some point someone has to roll up their sleeves and actually go ahead and do it. If everyone just sits around waiting, that better tomorrow will never be anything but a dream.

The law no longer discriminates against gay people. If someone discriminates against you, you can just go to the police or sue them. The gay rights movement is over. Enjoy your liberated lives people. Activism doesn't go on forever.

In Britain, maybe. Very much so not the case in the US and elsewhere.

"Discrimination/racism is over" is the quintessential idealistic statement: a statement of what should be, not what is.

As long as their are issues of discrimination, regardless of what is actually written down in the law, there will be activists and there will be fighting said discrimination.

Racism is a far bigger problem than homophobia.

It's not oppression olympics, just stating the truth. You should read what others have said, they're in agreement with me.

Really stupid argument. Yes, we have gotten better, but there's still a lot of shit we need to work on. Of course it would be easier to believe that things are perfect, but it just ain't so.
