All I hear from Trump is building a wall and making Mexico pay for it, misogamy, racism, hateful comments, etc. I've heard lots of foreigner (personally and online) say that making him the president would make them fearful or relieved that their leader wouldn't be a laughing stock of the world leaders.

Ted Cruz is second for me because he is against gay rights (surprisingly Trump seems to be doing a bit better there) and for big corporations.

Really, its hard to find reason to support most of the candidates if you aren't a big city, white, heterosexual male.

I know, but what about the ones that are, are they that significant? They seem to be if they're that much of a big deal. I mean, justin trudeau is being accused here for running his country like the "soviet union", and he's a head of goverment( not state, that's the queen elizabeth, yes Canada is still technically a colony, but a very, very, very, autonomous one, it doesn't even feel that much like a colony, anyway.) so it's must be a big deal, right?

No, actual socialists are a vocal minority and Justin Trudeau isn't running it like the societ union, that's just a pejorative. It's really not that big of a deal.

Definitely Trump. He's the type of guy that would get our country in trouble. He's a loose cannon. Not only that, he's racist and sexist.

Canada is not a colony, we are 100% independent from Britain. It was fully granted 34 years ago.

If you ever want to come back though Canada, you are more than welcome - which is more than can be said for some of the other ex-empire states

I'm not an expert on American politics but my understanding is that the president is basically an international showman. If Trump is elected to be the face of America, I believe it will severely damage not only the reputation but also the global political and economic standing of the US.
He may well be a notorious business man but that only means his goal are aligned to high profit feeding the wealthy elite and low costs at the expense of the working majority. If ever he did manage to build a wall along the Mexican border I bet I know which side he would employ the labourers from.

Well Cruz is plainly an asshole and Trump is pretty tactless; he would make an awful diplomat and probably make enemies for the US the minute he'd open his mouth. And Clinton obviously can't be trusted with classified documents, so she's eventually spill the beans on a vital strategy or something. Bernie seems cool but I'm not even 100% sure about him. Honestly none of the candidates are trustworthy except for him, and he still has some plan flaws that could affect us in the long run. Jeb seemed ok but with him out I'll do practically anything to keep republicans away from office.

Honestly, Hillary Clinton. I feel she has lied and flip-flopped on too many issues. The fact that she has to constantly "evolve" her opinions means she really doesn't have good foresight at all to see what effects certain policies will have on our country (until they have harmed us) and that she often makes the wrong choice on very important matters. Not to mention, she is a pathological liar. She wants this for herself and will perpetuate the gradual decline of the USA. I would hate to listen to her empty, worthless words as president of 4-8 years. When I listen to her, I question whether or not she even believes herself. I will vote for her under no circumstances. I really hope Bernie gets the nominee so I can vote for him.

In regards to Trump, my intuition is that he has learned how to appeal to the stupid people in America from being the host of a reality tv show, and that most of this is an act... He's seen it work and so he continues to feed it to the America public. He doesn't seem all that republican to me, when exploring his past. I don't think he would end up as extreme as he claims. That does make him as bad as Hillary, I suppose. I am sure part of my dislike for Hillary is because I like Bernie Sanders. He seems to genuinely want to help the American people, even if some of his policies seem iffy. If Clinton is the nominee, I'll feel like she robbed us of the chance to elect a one-of-a-kind, honest politician.

Either way, with Hillary the USA will continue it's slow decline. With Trump, at least the deline will be interesting (selfishly speaking from a place of privilege, maybe). With Trump, there's a slight chance he could actually help American (very very tiny!!), but with Hillary, it is a guaranteed perpetuation of a corrupt government.

I don't even both to mention Cruz because he is like Hillary: the same old, same old.

My dad said we're moving to Canada, too, if Sanders wins.

I'd have to say Trump. At first I did support him but the more I thought about it the more I feared him messing up this great country even more. Other than that, I hope Kasich wins the race since he's the most sane out of all the Republicans.

Completely agree with this. If Trump gets in, at least he will end up a lame duck President. The Republican run Senate will shoot down anything he wants, and/or someone will take him out because he offends so many.

I'm not American, but as a Canadian, the American presidential elections do have a pretty significant impact on Canada. I've been following the elections pretty closely, mostly because I'm amused (but also pretty alarmed) that some of these people actually have a chance at becoming the new American president, because of their ridiculous extremist views. I chose Trump, although although really it could be either him or Cruz for me because Cruz has pretty dangerous ideals as well. Both Trump and Cruz promote a culture of discrimination and violence and I am utterly disgusted that they both have a chance of winning. I am perplexed as to why anyone would support either of them.

It's between Cruz and Trump for me. In my opinion, they're both equally scary, yet Trump is more talk and more of a wild card, whereas I know what I'm getting with Cruz: basically a preacher running the country.
No problem with religion, but obviously he'd be willing to make decisions for our country based on his very religious values, which is not okay. He's not in the best interest of everyone.

It's a close call between Cruz and Trump for me as well, but I lean more toward Trump. I'm letting my personal feelings cloud political judgement, but my father is 100% for him, and anything that my father supports is an automatic no.

Plus Trump's an angry, hate-filled man with a podium. He's blasting a giant spotlight on the ugliest parts of my nation right now and it's distressing to see how much traction he's getting.
