DEAR GOD, YES. Alligator is SO GOOD. Apart from that, shrimp is tasty. As is pretty much every other meat, as long as it's prepared well. Or not. There have been days where a double quarter pounder is just as satisfying as a big plate of Jambalya with Andouille sausage and shrimp. Depends on how I'm feeling. But I will never turn down a bowl of Gumbo, or a big helping of spicy Jambalya.
I like different types of meat at different times. Lamb, pork, beef, and sometimes chicken. Fish, not so much. I will eat fish if it's the only type of meat served, but I'm not really keen on the taste. The taste makes me gag, and when I get one of those fine bones in the bite I took... major gag. Can't stand any hard/crunchy/crispy parts of food in my mouth when it's not supposed to be crunchy/crispy... Oh, and I love squid heads/calamari. Shrimps are meh and oysters and mussels also make me gag
Chicken can be awesome, as long as it is seasoned well and cooked only just enough. When chicken is overcooked and seasoned in a boring way, then I just eat it to get protein and to not be wasteful.
