I have been on T for almost a year and I barely notice any facial hair.
Is this normal for me or is it supposed to take this long for most trans guys?
My voice has deepened after 3 months and I stopped having periods around that time.
    I started T in March 2015.
    Thanks

Facial hair can vary from guy to guy. Some grow it out pretty fast and have a lot of it, while some have to take awhile for theirs to grow. The voice deepening is very normal, so that's really good.

Many cis guys have slow growing facial hair. Genetics I would assume. My step-son could go 5-7 days without shaving and nobody would really notice.

Yeah, you can thank genetics for that one. I'm over 16 months on T and barely have much facial hair to show for it, just a tiny bit under my chin. (Although I've been getting quite a lot of transitional hairs lately ) All the men in my family, that I can tell, can/could grow a good beard, so I most likely will, given enough time. A lot of men aren't able to grow full beards until their 30's while others are putting Paul Bunyan to shame by 17 (less common, however). Some men are never able to grow a full beard. So yeah, genetics. But even some of those guys at 17 probably have been in testosterone-heavy systems for a few years already. Sucks if you really want facial hair, waiting is never fun heh. But give it some more time, maybe you can see what the other men in your bloodline were/are like. That might give you some indication of what to expect, though things can still be different.

Dylan, facial hairs are different on males. Don't worry...(jeez, your periods stopped)? Wish I had periods and a uterus...

keep on shaving it even though there's no hair so it'll grow fast.

Facial hair can take a while. Look at the men in your family for a sense of what would be normal/expected for you. Do they have a lot of facial hair or not much? Did they get it at a fairly average age or did it take a while to come in?

Genetics play a big role in whether or not you might see some changes; and facial hair is one of those things, among others. I've seen guys who have been on T for less than a year who have amazing beards, and some who have been on T for years and can't grow much at all. Give yourself some time
