What do you think of the word "heterofest"?

That word was coined by Sacha Baron Cohen in the movie Brüno. I like that word, but I only get Norwegian or Brüno results. The way use it is "lacking a gay scene of gay people".
Examples- "A First Nations author talked to my school. I was surprised when he mentioned #######. I assumed it would be a heterofest."
"I'm thinking of going to Waterloo, but I've heard it's a real heterofest."

I had never heard that word before now.
It's faster than saying, 'Filled to the brim with heterosexuals.'

It sounds pretty funny, if it's analogous to "sausage fest" or "taco fest" or whatever other terms have been coined along those lines.

But yeah, Ted Cruz rallies are real heterofests.

 That it is. It's definitely a useful word, to say the least.

Sounds like a useful word to me, but the type that straight people would take offense to for no reason. You know, the same ones that want straight pride.

I saw Bruno but I totally don't remember the word. I like the term though

...and wait a second, are you from Southern Ontario too?

I'm from BC. The program I want is only offered in Waterloo or some school in Quebec. I don't feel like learning French. The word heterofest is said when Brüno disguises himself as Straight Dave.

I can understand why though - I'm sure most of us would take offence to the term 'homofest'. Well, I guess it depends on how it's used, as it sounds like a pretty cool name for a music festival, but you get my point.

It's like someone using the term 'lily white' to describe the Oscars - it's not supposed to be offensive because it came from a minority person, which is pretty dumb when you think about it.

I use the word when I get tired of movies or TV shows which have heterosexual leads. It is then that I re-watch movies from my collection of gay movies, or I go hunting for a new one. I love these movies and TV shows, but they can just become a little too cumbersome to watch when I have a hard time trying to relate. Basically I'm like, "enough of this heterofest."

What would you think of the word homofest?

meaning: a place filled with gay people.

If your answer to this is offensive, then the want for equality means you should find heterofest offensive.

And if you want my opinion for both, as long as it's used in a neutral* way, then it's fine. *i.e. basically stating that you've gone to a place where there's a lot of X sexuality people with no intention of making a positive/negative comment.

Someone already made this point, sorry. Just skip to my opinion then.

I didn't know it existed, and try not to think about it, now that I do!

Then again, I really can't stand Sacha Baron Cohen.

So nope, I'd never use it.

Sounds like sausage fest when it's an all boys or men reunion.

I don't see a need to use any of those terms.

I wouldn't use it, mostly because I'm just not really into all these "invented" words if you see what I mean.

Sounds like it was created by a group of those people who say "We need a straight pride!!" or "What about heterosexuals?" but refuse to truly understand why gay prides exist in the first place.

Fair enough. It's a great word, but I doubt most people would know what it means. I think I'll introduce the word if I hear someone saying sausage fest.

I remember when I first heard of the word dyke I thought it sounded pretty cool. Short and to the point, rolls off the tongue. Then I realized it was a slur. Around my area they're called studs.
