Original Japanse? Digimon, no contest. More mature story with higher stakes and coming of age relevant elements.

Asinine US dubs? Pokémon by a narrow margin. Only because 4Kids completely ruined digimon.

    Games? Pokémon.

Agreed completely with this. The original Japanese Digimon is excellent (especially the original Adventure and Tamers)--the story is much more engaging, the characters have more depth, and in the case of Tamers, it can be downright disturbing and dark. Something Pokémon never really is.

The English dub of Pokémon takes a light-hearted simplistic show and makes it entertaining--no real complaints there, but the show to me is much more childish than the original Japanese of Digimon.

As for the games, I've never even played any Digimon games--it's always been all about the anime for me (but the Pokémon games are some of my favorites).

Pokemon, obviously. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Those 5 people who said Digimon are obviously trolling.

Also Digimon Tri, without the exception of the continued love triangle, is awesome.

I like both for different reasons, but I think I still prefer Pokemon.

Either way, they are both a big part of my childhood.

Definitely preferred Digimon when I was a kid but both were pretty cool. Haven't played either or watched either in at least 10 years though. I have 'Pokemon: The First Movie' on VCR.. somewhere. Or maybe I got rid of it.

Something can't be an imitation if it never tried to copy in the first place. The only similarity between the two is their titles have 'mon' in them. I'm a big fan of both, and I don't see why more can't be. They are VERY different franchises.

And as far as the anime goes, Digimon is so much better.

And yes, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is a great game.

Digimon. Really glad its found its footing again! Normally, I'd say Pokemon games > Digimon games and Digimon anime > Pokemon anime, but the new Digimon game is really amazing.
