This ones not exactly news per se but it is pretty stupid that people still think they can change who their children are Full story well not exactly a story:http://http://www.freep.com/story/life/advice/2016/02/08/ask-amy-readers-dislike-homosexuality/79492918/
This is not new--that letter/answer is a "best of", and I know I've seen it before. That said, it's worth reading, and maybe even keeping a copy of to show people who talk about "choice." All this aside, there are, unfortunately, lots of people out there who still think it's a "choice." One sees the stories here regularly.
Sorry bout that it was in googles news section and said it was posted 13 hours ago I thought it was new
Never mind the parent feeling betrayed, I think that's what the son would be thinking after seeing this. What a disgrace.
One of the people at my school always says it's a choice and its a sin to one of my lesbian friends. I'm surprised that they are still friends.
Stupid as hell letter (who forgets their kid's birthday for 3 years in a row?!) but I love the response.
Oh, I read about that and the mom is just a mean person in general. What kind of mother forgets her child's birthday 3 times in a row.
Stop reading there. This is not a parent worry about their own kids. This is a parent worry about their image.
I thought AMy's response was pretty great though. She told the mother to prove to her child that being gay is in fact a choice, by becoming gay for a while, haha.
That was just great. The response to the parent summed up my feelings towards the "it's a choice" stance.
