General News Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace prize has been a joke for years. Not surprising that he's nominated, nor would it be if he won. Unlike the scientific prizes it's just a glorified popularity contest, and he's disgustingly popular.

 

Most prominent political figures just automatically win these. They really mean nothing at this point.

 

Eh, getting nominated is no big deal. Basically anyone with an official position in government or academia can nominate someone. There's literally thousands of nominees every year

Stalin and Hitler both were peace prize nominees at one point. They never won. Ghandi was nominated multiple times and never won. On the whole, though, I do think most actual winners were people for whom a good case could be made. Except maybe that one time Obama won for mostly not being Bush



I'm fairly sure I could find someone to nominate me as a joke.

Question though, who is nominating Trump?

 

Almost anyone can be nominated; many people submit nominations.

I could nominate Abu-Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
