I know there are a few Doctor Who fans here on the forum, so I thought you might be interested in this news.

    Good, he's a lazy writer.

Read this earlier. I'm disappointed I have to wait so long for the next season, but I'm also happy. Moffat's time is well overdue, he might be a good writer, but give him too much time and power and the serious get so dark and complicated it's not fun to watch anymore.
Last season I enjoyed the episodes by other writers much more.

This new showrunner, he made the first seasons of torchwood right? Also broadchurch is great (not only for David Tennant lol) so I have good hopes for this.

    I'm very excited!

I hope they go back to the format in the original episodes, where you had a series of, say 4 to 8 episodes making up each story...I've never liked the condensed version, ever since it was first brought it back...I miss that cliff-hanger aspect...and the original music.

I also hope we see either a female or non-white doctor, some more diversity.

To me the show has become too dull and mainstream, relying too much on action and fancy special effects.

According to S. Moffatt, the next Doctor's going to be female, saying that The Doctor [and all timelord's] sex is fluid, as is gender.

As long as it's not a man-hating agenda [and/or not a white-hating agenda] then I'm totally fine with it. But I must make one recommendation; Emma Watson. She believes in equality for BOTH male and female (kind of ignoring non-binary, but whatever) and she's ginger, which is what The Doctor's wanted for a while. I've seen her in Noah and she's very good at those strong speeches, so based on that I think she truly deserves the part.

And then after that, I'll be finished uni by then, so maybe cast me as the first non-binary Doctor ... please?

    At long last!

I'll take the wait happily if it means a potentially better writer on the other side of it. Moffat's love of weird retconning ('it's okay, guys, we fixed the Time War because Moffat doesn't think the Doctor could possibly be that morally grey!') and general sloppy writing have been driving me away from the series until I barely watched it this year.

And yeah, I second the prayers for a female or non-white Doctor. After Moffat's constant poo-poohing of the concept (despite allowing gender-hopping regenerations to finally become canon) it would delight me.
