    Hey hey,

Any other plane nuts out there?

    If so, favourite aircraft? Why?
Also, do you have a favourite airline livery?

I do like planes, and would very much like to learn to fly them.

    I love the F4U Corsair.

I don't have a favorite airline livery, but if I had to chose, probably the one that's most recommended. <3

Aw, the little baby DC-9. We only have 717s in Australia, but they're so cute!

    Natasha:
The Corsair is a gorgeous aircraft.
I've flown a little (about two hours' worth) and I can tell you that it's worth your time to either learn or just take a lesson for the fun of it.
However, if you do learn to fly, it costs a whole lotta money, so keep that in mind.

This beautiful bird.. gone from the skies but never forgotten. I was lucky to see it landing and taking off in 1999/2000. I also saw it fly over my school - very noisy. That was the last time it visited my city before its retirement.

Nothing will ever come close IMO. Well ahead of its time. It really was the pride of Britain I think - a true feat of engineering.

The 717 is a nice airplane. Unfortunately the DC-9 made its last revenue flight in the United States on January 5, 2014. The DC-9/MD-80/717 series is still in service though, with plenty of MD-80s out there, and you might even bump into an MD-90. This bird was my ride to San Francisco three and a half years ago:

That DC-9 above was a DC-9-30, which they built the most of. This is the biggest DC-9 model (and last to leave service), the DC-9-51:

To me, there is no other plane worth mentioning: the Douglas Commercial 3, or DC-3, the best-built, most durable and legendary DC-3 "Dakota".

When I was working up north in '78, I was flying in a DC-3, sitting behind the two pilots, then the co-pilot got up and told me to take his seat...there I was, an 18-year old actually flying that old bird in the northern skies...what a thrill!!

Hi, Fellow plane nut, aviation enthusiest here. CFI/CFII. I'm not sure if I can pick one of my favorite aircraft, there are way too many. Out of the ones that I've personally flown it would have to be the home build Quickie Q2. Fast, maneuverable, and very light and a true pleasure and rush to fly. Out of the ones that I've not flown, but hope to one day, my favorite is the Beechcraft Staggering.

Not necessarily a plane nut but the company I work for manufactures turbine blades for engines from military to commercial to private jets.

If I had to pick though I'd pick the concord for sure. If only my family was wealthy in the 90s...

I'd put the Concorde up there alongside the Spitfire.

There was talk about the French and Japanese working on a modern version of the Concorde but that seems to have been dropped.

Favorite aircraft? No way I'm picking just one :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: The P-38, A-10, UH-1, SR-71, Fokker DR-1, the list of planes or helicopters that are awesome is way longer than the ones I'm not interested in.

They did what's called a "legacy flight" similar to this one at the air show in my hometown. Incredibly awesome to see craft from different eras sharing the skies.

Psaurus918, I must ask, what company do you work for?
