Greek and English. Hoping to learn Spanish. I find Spanish kind of easy to learn because I notice a lot of elements in it from both, English and Greek.

English. I took four years of German in high school, but that's been about ten years so don't remember much. I would like to re-learn German and learn Romanian.

    Spanish is a latin language.
Greek influenced Latin which influenced French which influenced English.
Your argument is still valid, but if you want to know more about Spanish you'll find it easier to look into Latin and Arabic.

Well English is my native language, and I grew up studying French. I also took some Italian courses in college. Now, however, I'm picking back up on my French and Italian, and studying several other languages as well, including Chinese, because I figured it was time for some new challenges. I've committed to learning at least a little bit of 6-7 languages a day, just because I'm obsessed with them and I wanna see how far I can go with them.

    I am fluent English.
I have been learning French for about 7 years in school so I am ok at that.
I have been learning Irish for 12 years in school, but I am better at French than I am at Irish (in my opinion).
I can also count to ten in German, and to four in Spanish. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    I love language!

    Dutch - native
    English - second language, C2
Spanish, French, German - B2, can understand most written, speaking with errors (doesn't stop me, though :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ).
Modern Greek - A2, currently living in Greece in order to learn Greek.

I study ancient Greek and Latin so there's that. Because I know my Latin and some Spanish I can read (and sometimes understand) Italian and Romanian too. Portuguese is a mystery to me, although it is also a roman language.

I want to learn the basics of Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese and Japanese. Maybe some Danish or Swedish or Norwegian in the future, although Scandinavian languages have never interested me much for some reason. And I sometimes want to look over some Finnish and Hungarian because I find the pronunciation fascinating. Hungarian has 18 cases!

I would also love to have a conversation with someone from South-Africa because Afrikaans is hilarious to Dutch speakers

Does anyone maybe know a good website to learn languages apart from duolingo?

I speak English natively, and that's the only one I'm actually fluent in. I'm also learning Swedish, but I actually have no idea whether I can say I speak/know it. I know enough to read the Harry Potter books in Swedish and watch Disney movies in Swedish without subtitles and understand the majority of it, but I still feel like my actual speaking and writing is terrible. I also studied French in high school and college for about 8 years, but I don't remember much of it, so that doesn't count.

Wow, very similar to my interests! I'm taking on many of the languages you have mentioned. I actually learned some ancient Greek for a term and a half in college. Tough, but not impossible. I did well. You also mentioned Portuguese. I'm actually studying it now, and it has elements of French, Spanish, and Italian (all of which I have studied and am studying now), maybe some others too. Funny story, Duolingo is actually the main program I'm using to study languages, but since I don't think it offers Chinese, I'm currently using ChineseSkill for that. I have also downloaded Memrise, which is supposed to be good as well for many languages.

For those who aren't from Europe.
One's Language fluency is classified as such:

C2 - Speaks as well as a native (maybe even better) and has a very deep understanding of the language.
C1 - Speaks fluently and can understand complex stuffs.
(Take off my typo and those times I forget to give a fuck about grammar and you have me in English)
    _

B2 - Independant speaker who could live on their own in a [Target Language] speaking country.
B1 - Can make sentences and have basic or moderate conversations.
    _

A2 - Knows a bit and can make basic sentences
    A1 - Just started learning.

Fluent Finnish, and I consider myself rather good at English, and I study German and Swedish. I'm going to the Finnish equivalent of college after the summer and start studying another language, still choosing between Spanish and Italian. If either of them is to be chosen at the school I end up in....
