As long as he's responsible with them I have no problem living in an armed house.

Depends. A few of my relatives own guns. So long as my potential partner was a responsible gun owner who didn't use them as a replacement dick, I think I'd be okay.

    Nope.

A gun is just a tool. Doesn't it make sense to at least be familiar with the use of something that could prove useful in some situation, even if said situation seems unlikely at the moment?

The problem comes in when people fetishize guns, or anything else for that matter. Just be sensible with it, the way you'd be sensible with a drill or buzzsaw or chainsaw.

No, not at all. I like guns, myself (but am, for the record, strongly in favor of gun reform in the US) so no, it wouldn't be a deal-breaker at all.

I don't like when guns are flaunted. If they use them or whatever, alright. But if they're flaunted, I'm just "eh". Uninterested and annoyed. I kinda look down on them as unintelligent, which is just a stupid bias on my part.

I live in Missouri. It'd be kind of hard for me to mentally survive living here if I had that big of a problem with guns. And it's hard enough for me to mentally survive already. Don't wanna add that to the mix.

No. I am highly pro-gun and plan to buy one whenever I become an adult and live in my own place.

I prefer someone who is mature and responsible enough to own a gun. It's pretty comforting, depending on who the person is of course

well i dont know if this is a Non american thing, but there is no need to have a gun at all. They are against the law here in the UK. We have all seen what happens in the states were anyone can hold a gun. its stupid really....

if someone who i am interested in has a problem with me having firearms i guess that would be a deal breaker as i am an owner, i do hunt and i do shoot for recreation. i've been a gun person since i was 6 years old, i've taught firearm safety and marksmanship in the Canadian Armed Forces. for me having firearms in the house is as natural as having food in the house, in fact some of my food comes from guns.

I want to err on the side of "yes", although I've always wanted to go hunting.

    Yes, it would be.

Here, you pretty much have no reason whatsoever to own a gun. If a potential lover had one, I would question why.

It's not something I would feel safe around, either.

Worst argument I've ever encountered. So because person x does something illegal, you can just do whatever the fuck you want too?

Not a deal breaker because there would be instances where it's acceptable. I personally would probably get one for myself at home (if I can; never tried but APPARENTLY it's like super easy, like buying food) if I ever move out on my own so I can feel more safe. Preferably a hidden panic room, but what can you do.

Anyways, I doubt I'd really have much in common with someone who was a gun enthusiast and probably wouldn't date someone for that fact. Also, if they did keep a gun at home, even for protection, it would make me a little afraid of them until I trusted them a lot (double standard I guess).

Guns don't bother me. Have been around them but I despise them in a home with a child and the idiots who get "2nd Ammendment" brainwashed boners over them.

A dealbreaker for me is someong believing that gun control is a higher priority than working against patriarchy, gender-based oppression, and racism.

It would depend on their attitude and whether they are just a normal person who owns a gun for self-defense or sporting purposes (I live in America, so that's pretty normal here) or if they're one of those completely obsessed gun nuts who think that all crime in America would be eradicated if only someone had been there with their trusty sidearm to take down the bad guy. I also probably wouldn't be interested in someone who had a whole arsenal in their home.

If I were considering a serious, sharing our resources sort of relationship with someone, I definitely would be hesitant to get involved with someone who has a huge gun collection, because it's an expensive hobby that doesn't interest me in the least.
