Hi! I always thought I was bisexual, and came out, but now I'm questioning pansexual. I made a list of why I think I might be pansexual... I very rarely think about people I crush on or dates appearance. I always myself being attracted to non binary people. I would date/marry/have sex with a non binary person. I usually see people for their personality. I was the kid always having crushes on "ugly" people I thought were really nice. I don't really care about the gender of the person. Any pansexual people know whether it sounds pan? Or whether it sounds bi? Thank you for reading (&&&)
I think you could be pan. But you could also be bi. It just depends on how you want to define bisexuality and pansexuality. I've heard pansexuality being defined as different things. Being genderblind and ot noticing gender at all but personality instead, being open to nonbinary people as well as binary people, etc. I know some pan people don't really pay attention to gender and will just fall in love with whoever has the best personality. I'm pan, but I'm not going to lie and say I'm genderblind. I'm not. I am willing to date any gender, including nonbinary. But I do have a higher preference for women and feminine people than males and masculine people, so I'm not genderblind. I think bi and pan are similar, but I like defining myself as pan because, to me, pansexuality puts more of an emphasis on being accepting of nonbinary people. And to me, that's important. But of course, there are bi people who are willing to date nonbinary people too. So it all depends on how you want to define these two sexualities and which one sounds better for you.
Pansexual = attraction to all genders and/or attraction regardless of gender Bisexual = attraction to two or more genders You fit both definitions, so it's just a matter of which one you feel fits you better. Appearance has nothing to do with it. Pan people can still care about appearance.
I'd been thinking this myself. Am I Bi? am I pan? But then i decided I'm human I like who I like. Not sure of the label and I'm OK with that. When telling people though i often say Bi as it's easier for them to understand.
I think it's dependent on your definition. And in my opinion, often they are different ways of saying the same thing. I feel the same way but I identify as bi. Use what you feel comfortable with.
I don't really see any meaningful difference between the terms. I mean, I've dated cis and trans people before, I'd date someone who was non-binary, etc. I've always understood bisexual to mean "attracted to all."
