This has been happening to me as long as I can remember, since I was a little kid. I'll have a moment during the day where I'll look at something in a very specific way and have an overwhelming sense of deja vu. Just the feeling that I've seen the same object or thing in the way I'm looking at it before. It's that familiarity, and I've always wondered about it. It's a bit hard to describe. Pretend I'm looking at an apple from a specific angle. That specificness will trigger something in me and I'll feel like it has happened before.

Does anyone have similar experiences? Is it something that the human mind arbitrarily constructs, random blips in our daily lives, or is there a reason I'm not aware of?

The reason I ask now is because this is the second day I've begun meditation, and today, the sensation happened at least three times in a day, which is very out of the ordinary for me. Usually it would only happen every couple weeks. It might be premature to draw conclusions, but I was wondering of maybe this had a connection.

    Thoughts?

I don't know if this is the same thing or the same idea. But every so often I will look at something or someone and feel a feeling of deja vu like ive seen it before exactly like it is now. it feels so weird xD

Yeah me too. Sometimes I have a recurring dream about something then it actually happens.

I get that pretty often. And I've experienced a deja vu feeling with dreams twice, where I'd dream of a specific situation & then sometime later I'd experience that exact situation in real life. I was really weirded out when that happened.
But yeah, I've had that deja vu feeling regularly ever since I was a kid as well.

Yeah it's strange; I used to think I was psychic.

I have deja vu often, but I don't know if it's the same as for you.

Yeah! I dream very vividly of places I've only seen maybe once in my life as a young child, it's so strange. So this whole thing seems to be fairly normal? The human mind is fascinating

I get that sensation about once or twice a month, almost as if I've seen that exact same scenario in a dream before. It's a very weird sensation.

I've also experienced some pretty intense deja vu in my time, I'm not sure if your meditation has anything to do with it, possibly - who knows how the brain works. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: In my case, I haven't associated it with anything supernatural, but I can easily imagine how the sensation is probably the closest thing to 'feeling psychic'.

The human brain is so big and processes so much information. So naturally we have all the information in our heads! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. But we don't recall most of the information all the time. So it sits in cold storage.. Deja Vu happens when we feel like we've seen it before. So naturally it is plausible that it happens because that image or feeling is in our cold storage. Hence the vague sensation of remembering it.

That's it. In layman terms and my own words. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. No psychic feeling responsible I'm afraid. Unless all of us have dormant X genes lurking somewhere between all those chromosomes.

    That's a good explanation, thank you.
