How many of you guys actually buy insurance for your phones? How expensive would your phone have to be before you considered insuring it?

I don't. I've never damaged a phone so the thought of paying ~$10 per month for insurance with about a $75 deductible seems crazy to me.

I don't even have a phone, but I will say, insurance is insurance.

I don't have insurance on my phone as I haven't lost or damaged a phone in the years of owning one so I can't justify paying £10 - £15 per month for something that I will be unlikely to claim on.

Also most insurance companies try to find a way to get out of paying when people do make a claim.

The phone better be plated in gold and provide sexual favors if I'm gonna insure it. It's like insuring anything else, if I can get by without insuring it, then that's what I'm gonna do.

I never insure my phone. I know it's a little dangerous considering my phone is actually quite expensive but I've always managed to look after them until my contract is up. I must have saved a lot of money on insurance over the years! Enough to buy lots of new phones - if I'd actually saved that money instead of spending it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Never did get insurance, but I always got a heavy duty case for my smartphones. Dropped them a number of times on concrete floors/pavement over time, no problem yet. Not the most fashion-forward look tho.

    Why insure a $35 phone?

It's not too bad to replace a standard-issue iPhone and I always take good care of my phones anyway, so why bother?

I didn't actually realise that people insure their phones.
