    Whats your favourite musical?
I want to see one soon, so if you could leave your favourite musical and why its your favourite that would be great.

    High school musical :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Seriously though I've only seen a few, but

The Lion King - It was the first musical I ever saw. It was so good I can't even tell you.
Wicked - is really good, just the whole story and the effects. Though it's pretty well known for being good anyway. XD

Mary Poppins - It's so magical and I love the singing. Feed the Birds [apart from it's capitalistic ending] is so lovely and comes with great moral message.

    Oh I love musicals.
I really enjoyed 'Play me - The Musical Game' and 'The Lion King'. The best, I've watched so far is 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' though. It's about that couple whose car broke down and they go into some castle to ask if they can use the owner's phone. But the owner is Frank'N'Furter who's a Transvestite from the planet Transexual and well, it's just really funny^^

Wicked is my all time favourite- I can hear people groaning already, and I know a lot of people like it but it came to me at a point when I really needed it. I was just beginning to come out to everyone at school, the situation at home was rough and I felt the lowest I'd ever felt at that point. I needed something, and to see a musical about a strong, independent woman who didn't let anyone manipulate or control her and ultimately find some sort of bittersweet happiness was amazing. And come on, the staging, the lighting, the choreography, the costumes, the score, everything is perfect. I think the only thing it can be faulted on is 'real theatre fans' thinking that it's 'too common and you can't be a proper fan if it's your favourite because you've probably never seen any other musicals in your life'.

I also love RENT (another popular show, I know), If/Then (recent Broadway one with my queen in it), Les Mis, The Lion King (which I saw live), Billy Elliot, Carrie, and I'm going to see the Rocky Horror Show in April  I'm so excited- I've watched the recorded version and its amazing XD I know loads of others but not enough. I need to know more. Argh.

    ^ Yup

Wicked is pretty awesome. It's popular for a reason. I also have a particularly soft spot for Cats. It's pretty 80's but also really energetic and strangely moving.

Probably Rent, because cliche as it may be, I love the music in it so much!

Though my favorite show to have ever seen was this small production of Sweeney Todd on Broadway. The cast was only 8 people and they were all quite brilliant.

I recently saw Kinky Boots and Newsies during the summer in Toronto. They were both really good. I really love the music from Kinky boots and the story line is really great. I would recommend both of them.

I've not seen a stage musical, but as far as TV musicals go, I'd have to go with The Sound of Music.

You can probably guess based on my icon
Fun Home! I just love it because I can connect to it. I can apply the song, Ring of Keys, to realizing my gender. And other numbers to liking girls despite it not being accepted and everything, and what can happen when you aren't allowed to be who you are. It's very moving.
But right now, I'm obsessing over Newsies! Also extremely moving, and ahhh the dance number are magnificent!! I wish that someday I could have a male part in that musical (we can dream can't we?)

Les Miserables, because I really like the ensemble songs (I've watched it several times on DVD).
However The Phantom Of The Opera is really fun to see live, because there's an explosion, smoke and a falling chandelier.

Les Misérables is a good musical, in my opinion. I've seen the movie version and I've watched it live. The performance is spectacular!

The only musical I ever saw was Beauty and the Beast back in the early 90s. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Only seen a few at the West End! The best one I saw was The Bodyguard! I liked it so much I saw it twice..:astonished:nce with beverly knight in and once with alexandra burke (it's based on whitney houstons movie the bodyguard and has all her top hits in it.

I also enjoyed We Will Rock You and Mamma Mia.

Really want to see Les Mis, Wicked, Matilda and Lion King (saving that for a special occasion cus it's one of my fav intellectual properties). And if I ever go to New York Spider-Man and Alladin!
