Has some of you donated anything to a charity this year, or do you plan to do so? What was your experience?
Hello, I work in a charity store, my experience has been really good, majority of people are friendly and doesn't get boring. When I donated items it was good, you just sort of hand it in and then they smile and then set you on a job [I usually donate where I work].
I've donated to a few charities. A local cat rescue, a literacy organization, and an LGBT advocacy group.
I have donated mostly to the United Way this year. I'm still planning on donating a few items to a local thrift store in the new year.
I donate to a number of charities in different ways (time, money, services, tangible property.) This is also a good moment to point out that EC is sustained by the generous donations of all of those who support us... over 1,000 hours a month of volunteered time by our (all-volunteer) staff, and all of the financial donations that our members and friends are kind enough to give us, and the very generous donation of servers and bandwidth by the folks that originally created EC, before it was a nonprofit.
I give monthly to the Red Cross and a London LGBT charity. If a friend does anything for charity I will always sponsor them for making the amazing effort
