So I don't normally start threads but there's a first time for everything. Nothing interesting usually happens to me. But today I think I may have indirectly outed myself to my mom. Oddly enough she kinda outed me. I dunno. We were at a restaurant and I mentioned something about everyone getting married or something and she said I should find someone to date. I was prepared for the 'why don't you find a nice girl' speech but she asked me if I'd go to some LGBT support group. I said maybe if I knew more about it. I.E. Where it is, when it is, etc. Anyways I haven't directly told her I'm gay but I'm pretty sure she knows now. We talked a little about gay friends of hers and then the subject changed. Anyways I'm actually kinda relieved. I don't really have to find the right time, the right way to say it, all that stuff. I know the direct approach would have been better but I overthink everything. Either way I'm pretty sure she knows now. I even mentioned PFLAG and she said she wanted to check it out. So yeah there's something I can cross off my bucket list. Now I can die happy. Kidding :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

congrats! from reading that it sounds like she already knew if she was saying about an LGBT support group before you even said anything, going along with it even more outed you. I personally think the indirect path is possibly the best route to coming out as you dont technically have to actually do it so its alot more easy that way

She obviously knew.. as so many mothers do. I'm pleased it all happened in a nice calm and relaxed way. It's safe to say you are out now to your mom.

your mom sounds rad, and it sounds like she is willing and wanting to help you out. Keep the lines of communication open! You're a lucky one

On behalf of your mother, why don't you find a nice guy and just settle down?
