    If I were a cop:

You know, I might come off as a dick for saying this, but I've not known any black people who have come out and received support from their families. At most, it's ambivalence or indifference.

Yeah, there are a few celebrities, but they seem far and few. No doubt, religion, emphasis on masculinity and family, seeing "gay" as a white type of thing. Seems worse in the south, though.

And there are far worse things that happen and get a free pass...

    ??
Please do explain. I actually am curious how gay is a white thing. Where I'm from it is kind of seen as the opposite and African american families seem more accepting than white.

But no matter which, its kind of sad that the south has such an issue with homosexuality and cite religion as their reason to hate others. I'm not exactly religious but I believe that the majority of all religions were original about love and bringing people together. Hence the golden rule of "treat others as you wish to be treated" which seems to be preached in every religion

I think it's similar to how some black women rejected "feminist" and went for "womanist", or instead of LGBT/gay, "same gender loving". Basically, the lack of representation and acceptance, combined with ideas related to colonialism, masculinity, religion...

That's why the term "down low" is mostly used for/by black men, or "stud" is more common in black lesbian circles. I don't see too many black people involved in mainstream LGBT events and organizations here, so I assume many have their own separate thing going on.

Then you get arguments like in Russia how it's "propaganda" and "brainwashing". I've been on weird parts of YT and heard it's an attempt at whites to "weaken" and "control" the black man! These people are serious!

One guys even went so far to say "black men aren't/can't be gay"...

Another guy hurt because of my unfortunate lack of judgement. Oh well. Guess I'm just built to inconvenience and hurt people. Whatever.
