Owkay. Well, for starters, for those of us who have been following the manga all along, the plot has finally reached a point that has been teased for years.

    ELFHELM. WE MADE IT.

I can't stress enough how momentous this is for long-time fans. 7 years. For 7 real-life years Guts and co. have been drifting along in the sea, always on their way towards Elfhelm, but never really making any real progress towards it. Detour after detour, sidetrack after sidetrack, at some point it kinda stopped feeling like Berserk. We barely even saw Guts at all during the better part of those 7 years since Miura was so engrossed fleshing out Fantasia—the bold new world, product of the merging of the astral plane with the material world, that is now the new reality for all the Berserk characters—that the main storyline felt completely by the wayside.

This isn't to say that what we got was bad or anything, it was just (it is) different to what we had been getting up until that point. A lot of people felt kinda betrayed, and to be fair, it has been quite the radical shift, but we have to understand that in order for the manga to make it this far, it had to evolve. And that it did. So much so, that when the main story took a backseat to all this world-building, we fell into a kind of lull. Every new Berserk issue was welcomed, yes, but it we weren't ravenously expecting it or anything, since we knew it was mostly gonna be more table-setting. Excellently drawn table-setting with lots of implications for what's to come, but table-setting nonetheless.

But, last month not only did we saw Guts again for the first time in 2 years (I think) but he finally, FINALLY made it to Elfhelm. We are back on track! The main story is ready to go ahead full steam! So many possibilities! Will Caska get her sanity back? And if so, will that be like? Will she join Guts in his rampage of revenge? Will she decide to settle down? Will she kill herself? What will Guts do? How long will the time-skip be? How much will the rest of the world change while Guts and co. step out of the regular flow of time? What does this mean for Schierke and the rest (but specially Schierke)?

Can you tell? BERSERK IS EXCITING AGAIN!

The sad news is that after the December issue, the manga will go on hiatus (AGAIN) until the next summer :frowning2:

The other good news tho, is that there is a new anime project in the works! One that finally decides to pick up after the Eclipse, with Guts as the blackswordsman. Jesus fucking Christ! That's been a looooooong time coming! I get that the Golden Age arc is the most compelling self-contained piece of narrative within the Berserk canon (thus making it easier to adapt) but c'moooon, there is so much more to Berserk than that! And non-manga readers will finally get to see it!

Did that answer your question? :icon_mrgr

God, I hate it when people think they're cool for calling themselves psychopaths or sociopaths, especially when they throw in "high functioning" like a badge of honour. They're abhorrent personality disorders which render a person stunted in forming connections with others and in understanding basic tenants of human morality.

It's not fun, quirky or interesting. It's either a terrible way to beg for attention or the glorification of a severe problem. It's just so ridiculous, but I've seen heaps of teens online, including here, do it.

Y'know, just thinking of ways to overthrow the patriarchy like any "regular ultra PC liberal feminist" would do.

    Roses are red
    Violets are Blue
I like overthrowing the patriarchy with you

On a more useful WAYT note, I just realized that it's been over a week since I've seen my boyfriend due to winter break. ._.

So I shouldn't be thinking about this. But I am cos my brain is an asshole.

A mutual friend keeps refusing to talk about my friend's romantic interests. Which is fine. I respect his privacy and have no intention of pushing said mutual friend for information. But here is the reasoning: this means there is a romantic interest. It's reasonable to assume it's within our friend group, or else we'd know about it, because given what I know about the people involved, it's the only thing that would really make him feel vulnerable us knowing. I'm fairly sure it isn't either of the people I'm dating, which leaves me and someone else. Except that the someone else was brought up recently in a context that I suspect he would have reacted to, and he didn't. Which leaves me.

I don't have a problem with attraction and crushes between friends, and if I'm right it doesn't change anything between us in a negative way. We're all pansexual after all, it's bound to happen a lot. And I might even feel for him, if I were to allow myself to. Only, I don't think it would be fair on him. He's not polyamorous, and while he might decide to pursue a relationship, I don't think it would be healthy for him to commit to someone who won't do the same. Which is why I've avoided going for the someone else mentioned as well. I just worry that I'm hurting him just by being poly.

    Fucking thoughts...
