    Candy King's Artist Statement

    Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of Johnny Bravo as a methaphorical interpretation of both Kara Walker and dick riding.

    What began as a personal journey of Nostalgiaism has translated into images of Fried Chicken and Penis that resonate with Black people to question their own Organgeness.

    My mixed media Homosexuals embody an idiosyncratic view of Martin Luther King, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between Micheal Jackson, Men and Chickens.

    My work is in the private collection of Janet Jackson who said 'FUG NUT!, that's some real Gay Art.'

    I am a recipient of a grant from Folsom Prison where I served time for stealing mugs and tie clips from the gift shop of The Baltimore Museum of Art. I have exhibited in group shows at McDonalds and The Alchemy of Art, though not at the same time. I currently spend my time between my Magazines and Berlin.

    Being an art student is fun.

    I think I'm having a mild gallbladder attack. The right side of my back, under my rib is hurting and its wrapping around to the side. Plus, my stomach hurts everytime I eat. :frowning2:

    Bah, bus wasn't due for 55 minutes so I decided to walk home with all my shopping. Took a fucking hour to just make it to the main road with more frequent buses. My shoulders are killing. And my ice cream is melting.
