I've a better idea, how about we ban Donald Trump and his ilk from entering civilised society?

Oh good. Eliminationist rhetoric. About a hair away from full fascism.

The number of people who respond to this positively is terrifying.

It should be noted, every gop candidate has proposed excluding Muslims, just a matter of where to draw the line. Bigotry still sells, unfortunately.

It is so scary that this guy could become president of such a powerful country.

Problem is the people who should be calling this shit out are either agreeing with him or laughing at him. Imagine being a Muslim in the west right now with the kind of racist crap this bulbous, loud mouth and his fellow Republicans and associated idiots in Europe (That's you National Front) are spewing.

This prat leading the polls and the rise of the far right should be seen as a warning, not the harbinger of a golden age for comedy.

Good luck with that. I don't vote but this guy really does sound like a fascist, who's blaming a minority group just to take power. Sound familiar? Hate is the most powerful motivator, he knows this, and he's sordidly using them as an avenue to become president of the USA. The fool's choice would be to vote for him, and the public schools program the students to think the same way this guy does.

There's no framework that includes all types of oppression as being equivalent. Rather people fight one source of oppression (homophobia) but they'll extoll far right Islamophobia (white supremacy) in the same breath.

That said, he probably won't become president, because he's from the criminal side of the financial sector, whereas his opponents represent the traditional corporate side.

He doesn't sound that different from the average American tbh, at least if we're going by comments posted on news sites. Heck, what he's saying here is indistinguishable from what some people here are saying about Muslims.

Maybe a complete shutdown of immigration to the the US would help our country but than again it goes again who we are as a nation. Donald Trump is just making it harder for the GOP to elect a president for their party. Maybe he just ran to help Hillary that could be possible.

Pretty much everything Donald Trump has to say is disgusting. This is just another thing to add to the list.

He stands in opposition to virtually every decent American value that can be imagined. He is stirring up some nasty shit in our country, and the fact that the Republican party as a whole is not stepping out to crush this fool condemns them as well. They are allowing some nasty shit to get mainstreamed in our country, and once you let it out of the box you can't easily put it back in. Eventually, people are going to get hurt and be killed as a result. Lives will also be ruined and harmed in lesser and greater ways as a result of discrimination.

All of this and more should be laid at this bastards feet, and more broadly the feet of the Republican Party. If you don't stand up and strongly denounce this man, you become an accomplice. Silence is support.

In fairness a few of the Republican candidates did condemn what he said, Jeb! Kasich and Lindsey Graham especially.

Rubio's one had the whiff of the pot and kettle though.

That's true. Kasich and Graham have gone out of their way to attack him numerous times over numerous issues. It is important to be fair too them. Jeb has tried to straddle the fence on a number of occasions, as he thought at one point he had a real chance at winning.

I honestly don't know what the Republican party will do if Trump wins their nomination. I am honestly hoping the party breaks in half. I know numerous Republicans in my personal life who are absolutely appalled by Trump, Carson, and Cruz. They would certainly jump ship to a new party with more liberal social policies, and that abandoned racism and bigotry wholesale.

He's foaming at the mouth insane. Not only does he not realize there's a crapload of Muslims already here, but yeah, obvious Hitler comparisons. He should bow out of the race to regain even the slightest scrap of dignity for himself.

Trump is CRAZY. That is all there really is to it. He is a narcissist, and he is not mentally sound to be president. If he were to get elected, he would probably end up doing something so outrageous, brazen, and reckless that he would get himself impeached. If he gets in, those in the world who already don't like us will become even more aggressive with their anger. Also, he would probably have no sense whatsoever in dealing with political gridlock. I can guarantee that there would be at least a few memorable outbursts. If that weren't enough, his ability to manage finances would reflect his foolish, reckless approach to politics. He is a nut, and hopefully he does not get into the white house. If he does, the whole country must also be crazy.

Even people on the same party think the guy is insane. I hate to admit it, but usually these kinds of people changes history. For the worse. I hope enough Americans will vote him out of the place.

I do love it when racist media soundbites are a politician's alternative to developing policies.

An immigration policy (if it can be called a policy) that can be summed up in about three sentences is more than slightly concerning. Were this stupidity to be implemented, I imagine ISIL's propaganda chiefs would be even happier than Trump's supporters. This has no rational basis; denying access to Muslims is just about the most effective way to push people to be radicalised, angry and anti-American.

Has Trump said anything banning Christians from coming in, since some of the white right wing mass murderers in the US have claimed to be Christian? Of course it would be unfair to label all Christians as evil based on the actions of criminals, but it's okay to do that to Muslims, despite the fact that Daesh (ISIS) has killed a hundred times more Muslims than any other religion.

I'm not a republican, and probably shouldn't care who the republicans nominate, but I still hope he doesn't get the nom. Sadly too many Americans agree with this nonsense. :frowning2:
