I don't think basic human decency and refraining from being deliberately offensive is "political correctness gone mad".

    -I agree with capital punishment.
-I like the idea of a limited government, free market society.
-War is only justified if you are defending your country from an invader. Countries shouldn't get involved in other countries, whether that be to fight or to give aid.
-Businesses should have the right to deny service to any person or group of people they want.
    -Maths is the best subject.

Jennifer Lawrence is problematic and tries to hard to be seen as naturally quirky.

The archetype is the Richard Dawkins way of thinking about religion. Let me clarify: I don't have any problem with non-belief; I have a tiny bit of problem with disbelief because it appears as simply unsophisticated to me, in that one cannot prove a negative; it's anti-belief that I have a problem with. Critisize the influence of corrupt/backwards/whatever organized religious institutions in society all you like, but in that case make sure to be specific not to condemn all of religion or to be simply hostile against religion. If you are, you are, in my mind, simply bigoted.

I think Nutella is just OK. I'm not into sweets so that could be it, but I didn't taste anything out of the ordinary from the spread.

How can you be a sceptic of knowledge? Excuse me, but by definition that would mean you want ignorance.

Of course I can agree with you that some things which we cannot prove to be real/true might actually be true/real. However to assume that everything that hasn't been proven wrong/false are somehow true, is a logical fallacy. Just because there is no proof that leprechauns don't exist doesn't autmatically mean they exist. In reality it is actually the other way around being that unless you can prove that it is real it isn't real.

Now that doesn't mean we can be certain that those things aren't true/real. Leprechauns as well as chakras however, are both hypotheses unsupported by fact and observation. There is no proof that chakras exist, therefore until they are proven to exist I won't believe they are real, nor will any legitimate scientist.

But that is also the beauty of science and empiricism, because nothing is out of the question. Science is open to questions, and that is the whole point. Just as an example take evolution. Evolution is the most widely accepted "theory" among scienist of the "hows?" of the existence of complicated life forms. That doesn't mean that it is the definite answer to the question. From the data that we have collected and analyzed we are able to say that almost certainly has complicated life forms come into existence through the means of evolution. However if some new data would be collected that disproved evolution, well then those discoveries might be used to develop a new superior theory to evolution.

Of course science is slow. You couldn't exactly expect bronze age human beings to be able to build a super hadron collider to figure out how the universe works. It takes many steps, from figuring out how fires work, to how we can use the heat from fire to smelt metallic ore to create tools. As another example, human technology isn't the same now as it was 50 years ago. New discoveries are made on the daily thanks to empirical research and as a result new technology springs into existence through those discoveries and the hard work of the innovative people of this world. Those discoveries in turn, open up even more doors for new discoveries. It is a sort of technological evolution.

If you want quick answers you'd have to resort to guessing. And if you've ever done a math test which you didn't study for, you'd know that guessing is rarely successful.

I don't think intelligence is overrated. I think people should strive towards knowledge.
