Fallout 4

Settler logic, uh? Well, now I know what to do with all the guns I'm left with after draining all the caps from vendors.

 

I don't have much to say except for the fact that I love it. I keep getting too worried about Dogmeat though.

 

Actually don't have as much playing time with FO4 as I expected to have at this time. I'm at 87 now--which is still a lot--but I've so many other games to play too such as Star Wars: Battlefront, Assassin's Creed: U Fuckin' Wut Mate and Just Cause 3.

 

From the footage I've seen, fucking gorgeous. Probably one of the best looking games I've seen, at least from an overhead point of view.

 

Not sure yet--it's currently installing. I loved JC2 though and I watched several videos of the Achievement Hunters just fucking around in it and it looks like a blast. I love games that focus on just being dumb fun.

 

Maybe don't get the PC version; it runs like absolute piss. Would've liked to have known that before I bought it. It is literally unplayable and I suffered through Arkham Knight, which is funny because if I was a developer back in July, I would've thought "holy shit--the backlash for Arkham Knight on PC was fucking insane. Let's try not to do that." Instead of doing exactly that only worse.

Oh yeah, I read about that too. It's happening all across the board, and the problems seem to be worse on Xbox.

 

Oh, trust me, they're not.

My framerate fluctuated so much that it looked like the speedometer of a car that has only two speeds; full throttle and slam on the breaks. It would go back and forth from 60 down to 20 more than four times in ten seconds, which is absurd. I saw texture pop in with every step, accompanied with some delightful stutter. I finally gave up when the game put me in a helicopter and the screen would freeze for a second, noticeably load up some trees, let me progress 20 meters and then freeze again to load some more trees. At that point I just alt+F4d, because I don't have time for this shit. The game works so poorly that it takes several minutes to get to the fucking menu. The game shows you a little sequence of Rico chilling on the beach on a chair displaying the Avalanche Studios logo for a good 30 seconds--unskippable, of course--before it says "logging in" and throws you into a 1+ minute long loading screen that takes you to the fucking menu. Like what the fuck? This is the kind of shit I expect from Ubisoft, not literally every other studio in existence.

 

Holy shit.

I know you are having a bad time with the game and all, but I'm living for this rant. You tell it like it is, Lazuri! I wonder if the fact that the game released in this state has anything to do with the fact that they also had to work on Mad Max? Maybe they prioritized that one because it's a movie franchise, in which case they should have delayed Just Cause 3. Not like we aren't used to delays anyway.

 

Apparently Mad Max was made by Avalanche's Swedish branch and we know how to develop games. Avalanche just opened a new studio in New york and they clearly felt like hiring every single B-list developer and giving them the developer's flagship franchise was an excellent business strategy.

This game is so much fun. Just me, Dogmeat, and my trusty sniper rifle venturing throughout the wasteland. Like others, I haven't done a whole lot with the main quest. I'm having more fun doing missions for the factions and just exploring in general.

Sometimes I feel bad for baby Shaun because who knows what the Institute (I'm guessing the Institute are the ones behind this) is doing to him or with him while I try to fuck every single one of my companions or scavenge for adhesive, screws and aluminium cans. Oh well, I just pretend I'm role-playing as a shitty parent and carry on with my personal journey of hoarding every little thing I can pick up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just don't want the game to end before I'm done tinkering with everything in it, because I know myself, and once I finish a game I never revisit it (with only a handful of exceptions).
