Did anyone happen to catch last night's Yaoi episode of South Park? If so,what did you think?

No, I keep forgetting to watch on Wednesdays. But I just read the episode summary and... it's interesting that the show is aware of some parts of its fandom.

I don't want to really make a comment until I've seen the episode.

I really enjoyed it. I didn't expect much from the episode, but now it became one of my favourite episodes. Also, the fanart that was used is amazing.

The reaction seems to positive and it does sound like a funny idea for an episode. I don't really follow south park or care enough to check it out, but I like how they even featured real fanart in the show lol

On a side note I've always found south park yaoi to be kind of weird and off putting. Aren't the characters like, a bunch of 4th graders or something like that? Yeah, not really sure why people are into that.

Haha, I just started a thread on this but missed this one. It's really different from all the other episodes. Normally, I expect hard core humor that is based on some pretty sensitive topics. This episode took a much different route. I liked it a lot, but they may be because I like yaoi. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I thought the episode was hilarious! I kind of assumed that Trey and Matt would eventually make a gay-related episode because of this season being focused on political correctness and I'm glad they did. Great message behind it and hopefully people can learn from it.

On a side note, for their gay-related episode, I thought they would actually make fun of Kim Davis, or a fictional character portrayed as her. They mock so many famous people and celebrities (jokingly, of course) and them making fun of her would have been hysterical.

South Park used to have several staff writers who were gay - I don't know if they still are on the show. Also, Trey Parker has a degree in Japanese and loves anime (they've had anime and Japan episodes before), so I'm fairly positive they at least know of Yaoi. They tend to do their homework.

Anyways, like the others I absolutely LOVED the episode. I was in stitches when they explained where gay people came from. :roflmao:

Yet another good episode from South Park.

I don't normally watch it except when recommended, this one had a lot of great gags

Didn't know that. It makes more sense now. I was just surprised because I usually expect a different type of comedy from South Park. This one was just a little different. Still though, one of my favorite episodes now. The way they delivered it was not only funny, but also very cute and touching.

Have you not watched it before? I've seen every episode and I'll tell you that there's a lot of great satirical work in the series. They really love messing with celebrities and controversial issues. They definitely do not hold back. It's definitely worth the watch if you enjoy that type of humor.

Wait until you get to the Scott Tenorman episode, "Scott Tenorman Must Die". You learn why you do not fuck with Eric Cartman.

^ GREAT episode! Certainly do not ef with Cartman...

After watching this episode (yet again) the other day, I decided to do my own Tweek X Craig yaoi artwork. Last night, I finally got the inspiration to do it! I started at 11pm and ended at 3:15am. Here is a link to it

edit: Keep in mind this is NOT a serious art piece

I didn't understand a lot of it because I don't get the whole anime thing. I have known about it since 1998 when one of my classmates who is of Japanese descent talked about it. Never really have understood it though.
