I watch plenty of wildlife documentaries, especially those with Sir David Attenborough in them, and he loves them. He says they are one of the most highly evolved creatures on the planet, and feared unfairly.
I don't know about that last part, but I don't like the massive ones.

There is a huge captive python I saw in Reptile Park north of Sydney. Didn't look too friendly and it amazes me why some people have these as pets.

Yeah kinda, if I saw a snake in real life I'd run a mile. But I'm not one of those people who are afraid of seeing pictures or the thought of a snake. I know people who cry just by seeing a photo of a spider or something XD

I love snakes. I intend on getting one for a pet when I get my own place.

Not at all. I'm not about to go cuddle with venomous ones, but when it's safe? Sure. I love 'em. Spiders are the creepy ones lol.

Nope. I'm quite fond of them actually.

Not to long ago my Mom found a corn snake while doing yard work. Friendly little guy, maybe 2 1/2 feet long? I carried him to a nearby tree and let him go.

I once held a python across my neck, so presumably not. I don't see what's so scary about them, unless they're venemous. Wild snakes here are pretty harmless. They can certainly bite, but their venom is weak.

Not really. I have respect for snakes and try to keep my distance. When living out in Arizona I had to move a couple of rattlesnakes out of the way when I would go hiking or off roading.

I'm not afraid of them, I like them. Obviously I wouldn't like to be bitten by a poisonous one, or even a non-poisonous one come to think of it.

I've always said that if you're afraid of snakes, you should hold one. They have a lovely soft texture like leather - they're not cold, slimy or scaly like you'd expect. They're quite relaxing to handle.

It depends on how big they are.
    Little snakes don't bother me.
Those pythons and others who swallow animals like cats do bother me. They gross me out and I love cats.

I will treat any non venemous one like I do mice (ignore unless about to be killed, then let it go free); I would not pay to touch one, or to not touch a non venemous and clean one. I would run or die if near a venemous one.

Yeah, I am. I'm kinda scared of everything, really. I was actually on a walk in the woods with my mom a few weekends ago, and we were discussing people who are afraid of snakes. My mom won't say it, but she thinks I'm pretty pathetic, so I convinced her that I wasn't afraid of snakes and said that I don't get why people are. About ten minutes later a snake slithered across the path and I jumped back and latched onto my mom, at which point she started laughing at me. I am the worst.

    Nope - I think they're cute:slight_smile:

When I was 4-6 years old my mom would take me on nature walks and if we came across a garter snake she would pick it up and then hand it over to me to hold (being careful not to hurt it of course) and examine before putting them back.

Obviously you wouldn't do that with a poisonous species, but they just require reasoned caution not fear.

If I went to some foreign land with actual venomous snakes, I think I would be afraid. However, the only snakes around here are garter snakes. They are harmless. I think that they are cool to look at.
