What's your favorite LGBT representation in a movie/show?

I haven't had much of any real exposure to LGBT characters in movies and TV, so my knowledge of them is pretty limited. The only one I can name off of the top of my head is Dr. Frank N. Furter from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Only Tim Curry could pull off flamboyant drag well enough to make me feel such wonderful things in my brain space. He's sort of my guilty pleasure actor crush, only slightly below Neil Patrick Harris.

No, I haven't seen it. I knew All in the Family was based on it, well, years later. Though, being an American, it kind of makes sense that Archie Bunker was someone I was more likely to see or know.

Even today, some of those episodes are deeper than about anything now. One of my favorite episodes is when Mike, the liberal atheist boyfriend of Archie's daughter, feels like he needs to reassure Edith, Archie's wife, of her faith after a trans-friend of her's is killed.

I also enjoyed the one where Archie is talking about the queers, and one of his friends, a real macho kind of guy is arm-wrestling with him during this, admits he's gay -- then beats Archie. Considering this was a time that gay men were considered accessories at best, or vile at worst, it's pretty impressive.

You don't get stuff like that anymore.

I wonder if Xena and Gabrielle count? Did the people who made that show ever comment on their relationship being sexual?

Then got played in the end. Getting to the final 2 is also half of the game and she burned a lot of bridges, so we'll probably never know if she actually would've won(getting the jury to respect your game and vote for you is the other half) since they did reveal that the jury was pretty pissed off.

I will admit she played a hell of a game, but I still stand by the fact that the girl was totally cuckoo, haha. :v

Yes they did. The "water exchange" in FIN was meant to be a kiss and Rob Tapert has said that it was kind of a love letter to the subtext shippers. Years later, everyone involved in the show (producers, writers, actors) have all come out in support of Xena and Gabrielle being a couple.

I've always liked how Willow and Tara's relationship was portrayed in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Omg I was obsessed with Vanessa. I love her <3

That was her game to win, and there's no denying that she dominated the season. Steve wisely didn't take her to the end because he knew he couldn't beat her, and he said so when he evicted her. As much as I wanted Vanessa to win however, Steve was smart by not taking her and avoided the same $500,000 mistake that Cody made last year.

Ian and Mickey from Shameless (US). Even though they're acted by two heterosexual actors I still love the story of how two boys who act very masculine are gay and still go for each other. No spoilers but season 4 is especially heartwarming.

Yeah that was a stupid ending, it made it feel like everything they went through was for nothing lol. Brian and justin remind me of my relationship with someone, wait, actually we're more like Brian and Michael.

I recently binge-watched The L Word which is 6 seasons long - it's great if you haven't seen it and you like women, check it out.

Well there's plenty of gorgeous women but mainly I'm in love with Shane. Like most people who saw the show.

    I have a few

Sophie and Maddie from coronation street - I remember first seeing them kiss on TV and I felt I almost could relate, being a similar age. They made me confident about my sexuality

Dominic from Holby City - he is always so kind and supportive in the show but at the same time will put his foot down and stop others doing the wrong thing. He also reminds me of one of my friends in real life

    Hmmm...

    Dixie from Casualty,

The main character from the film G.B.F

    Amy- from Faking It

Reagan-ish, I mean she has her annoying moments- from Faking It

Shane- from faking it (yes I know he's a cliché stereotype, but I still like him)

Lauren- from Faking it (she's fun to watch, especially when she's mean to the others, part of me enjoys her bitchy nature she has.)

    Meg+ Graham from But I'm a cheerleader.

Jane From the Truth about Jane.

    (!)

All though considering how Shane acted in the last episode, I'm not so keen on his character anymore. Still it shows he isn't one dimensional and has flaws I guess.

Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion (He loves Kaworu - don't tell me otherwise; but he also likes Asuka so he's bi).
Korra from LoK (She used to be in love with that dreary guy Mako but now she's in love with Asami so she's bi).
    Asami from LoK (" " " " " " but now she's in love with Korra so she's bi).

My guilty pleasure is Brittany and Santana from Glee xD One of the only reasons I watched all 120ish episodes of that mess of a show was to see their scenes.
