I discover new artists via Gay Music Chart channel on Youtube.

Also skim thru world music section of iTunes very often. While usually I find instrumental pieces sometimes I find awesome singers like Rokia Traoré.... Heh UN also found him I realized and it was such a fitting find for them. Check this work she did for UN.

Almost always YouTube, though most of the metal I've been exploring I've found through metal archive/encyclopedia sites. But, I will say if my one app was still working, I was introduced to some great folk/power metal and grunge bands through that.

Usually something like Pandora or Last.fm. Sometimes Youtube. I use to discover a lot through Sirius and XM Satellite Radio.

A long time ago I followed a blog where people recommended metal bands and I found really many great bands thanks to this blog. Unfortunately it's dead now.

I still buy many CDs, I usually do it on Amazon and then I always check out the recommendations I get there and listen to the songs (either on Amazon or on Youtube). The recommendation system on Amazon is pretty good in my opinion and I've found many interesting bands with this.

Sometimes I try to use the recommendation system of youtube.

Often it's also recommendations from friends, then I look up the songs on youtube and find more similar songs.

I don't listen to the radio, they don't play the genres I like, I don't like most of the songs they play and the moderators are soooo annoying...

I use spotify's discover weekly playlist, which is based on the music you've listened to in the past.Found some great songs in those playlists!

Usually Spotify and reviews. I like reviews, because if anything interesting jumps out at me then I'll take the time to listen to it. With so much music out there, I want to narrow it down somewhat towards my interests, which are pretty varied.

I use Youtube, Radio, and late-night talk shows. I used to be able to get an all music video TV channel called CoolTV, but it went away a few years ago.

Anime, video games and Vine, believe it or not. Anime vines are perfect for finding out new music, for me at least.

My dad brings home weird as shit singles from work, (he sells crap on ebay for charity, there's more to it but that's the gist). I would never heard of 'Big ben banjo band' or 'freddy vander and his ensemble' otherwise. And looking through real record shops singles.

And music documentaries. Friday evenings on BBC 4.

I discover it from many different sources. Most of it comes from Youtube, I'll start any random playlist and then make my own list from the songs I like.
    Reading newspapers and magazines.
    Other social media outlets.
And also talking with people, learning what they like and if I have not heard it, listen to it myself, I find understanding other's tastes in music can help understand the person.
