Hmm, everyone has nothing but praise for the last of us, but I thought it was boring. The story was alright, now that I know what happens I wouldn't bother playing it a second time.

Liking it is alright--I like Heavy Rain too despite the hate it gets--but masterpiece it is not. That's just incorrect. A completely story driven game with such lazy writing can not be considered a masterpiece, it just can't. Like, imagine if Hamlet was the one who actually killed Hamlet's father, don't change anything else except that it turns out right at the end that Hamlet was the one who killed his father. If that was the case, everybody would call "bullshit." Nobody would call it a masterpiece. That's basically how the story of Heavy Rain goes.

Oh my god, how the fuck did I even know that? I rented it once like 13 years ago.

I played the Destiny beta. I did well and enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, these days, I don't have enough time to play games often at all, or I would have bought it on release.

I think The Last of Us did something quite difficult, which is to create a zombie story that contains original elements. Its story also has depth and poignance, and the younger characters aren't just stereotypical teenagers. The story reminds me of the book/movie Children of Men.

It is somewhat difficult, but I beat it in the span of 24 hours because I felt compelled to experience the entire story. The gameplay mechanics are tight, too!

Too hard to pick just one: Final Fantasy 4 & 6, Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 2, GoldenEye, Walking Dead Season 1 and Half Life 1 just for starters.

For me it's KOTOR 1, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect series at least for now. Batman and Assassin's Creed II are quite high on my list too. I've got a lot games in my library including Bioshocks, Fallout and Far Cry so the list might change. I also loved playing Contra when I was younger.

I should've burned up my Nintendo as a kid just given how much I loved Contra. The store down the street growing up had Super Contra arcade game. That game got wayyyy too much of my money back then.

Played thru all BioShock games and FC 3 & 4, have had Fallout 3 and New Vegas for forever but haven't played them. Maybe its me but I just find the visual aspect of it drab and uninteresting to look at really. Maybe I just haven't given it enough chance.

No, you're not wrong about the Fallout games. You could try the Fellout mods for both the games that removes that sickly green tinge everything has, but it's still kinda bland and boring.

They're alright games, but they both had something that made me refuse to play them. Fallout 3 ran on Games for Windows--Live and that is just a dealbreaker for me and New Vegas is such a technical mess that when I boot up a save, there's a 50% chance the game gets stuck and sometimes it locks up my whole computer. A lot of wasted potential for me, really. Hoping Fallout 4 behaves better.

I love strategy games, mine are Chess, Making History, anything by Paradox Interactive (Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Victoria 2, Hearts of Iron etc). I also like simulation games, business sims and city builders like cities XL Platinum, Cities: Skylines, Black & White 2, Rulers of Nations, Masters of The World, Democracy 3, Dwarf Fortress, Patrician, Capitalism etc. But i do board games, mostly Chess, Diplomacy and Risk.

My favourite video game is Alice: Madness Returns, although don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story and Gone Home are both very close to usurping that title.

Toss up between Xenosaga games and Persona 4. Final Fantasy X is an honorable mention.

Fallout 1. I just cannot get over the fact that it allowed me to be such a good diplomat that in a long conversation with the leader of all the mutants I managed to convince him that his new race of mutants was doomed to failure and that he needed to blow it all up now. That's how I won the game. And so many other good conversations, difficult missions, the satisfaction of finally working out how to snipe a deathclaw, the fact that I always felt like I was uncovering dirty secrets in every town. Love love love.

I wasn't expecting it to be so good. By far the greatest story in video gaming (well my opinion anyway).
