I have no problem calling myself my new name and my new pronouns (he/him) in my head, I've done that for quite a while, but I just recently told my therapist about them and now whenever she calls me Dorian or 'him' I'm like "who, me?". No one else calls me this, everyone either say my birth name or a shortened version of it, and calls me she or they. My new name feels right to me but I still feel a bit weird when others say it. How long did it take for you to get used to it?

It varies from person to person. I'm still getting use to calling myself by my preferred pronouns and name, and no one else has used them because I'm not really out yet.

I found using and hearing my name very easy, a little more so than pronouns. I don't know why. But I've been saying he for a few years now, so it gets easier.

It gets easier the more % of people I run into that say it right. Like, if I've been around people I'm not out to for a while, and then someone uses the right pronouns, then I'm like what? But if I've been around people that're using the right pronouns, then I don't even notice.

Didn't take long for me. But then, it's never been unusual to be referred to by female pronouns in some situations, such as over the phone.

It didn't take that long for me. Before I even came out, I was starting to become oblivious to my birth name. People told me that they'd call me and that I would not notice until they changed to my preferred name.

The more you hear it. The more you'll get used to it.

I get pissy when people call me him even if they don't know. Especially people who do know.

And as far as my name, gender neutral for the win.

    That's a tough call.

Right now I'm appreciating that people are using the name I prefer. I guess it's taken me a few months to warm up to it, and I still have doubts now and again, but it works well enough.

And for pronouns, I am not anywhere used to being called "she," though I do have some friends who do that. Although on one hand it can be sort of unnerving, when I think about where the sentiment is coming from I feel very moved that my friends are doing their best. And it certainly makes me happier than "he."
