do you look young

I'm almost 18 and most people think that I'm a 12 year old.

I blame the fact that I present very masculine. So not only do most people misread my gender upon meeting me, they think I'm much younger than I am because I have enough feminine features to appear prepubescent as far as cis male development is concerned.

Most people who recognize me as female perceive me as my actual age, though. So I think it is really more based upon their misinterpretation of my gender than my actual face. lol

 

Age guessing software has been saying I am 22-27 for a couple years based on my face.

On the phone, people have been thinking I was my dad for about three years now, and last year I got a few "I wish we could switch voices" (yeah, I do too, yours is higher)... I hate my voice.

Last year I was asked how old I was, I said twelve, then I was called a lier and told I could not be under 15 or 16.

I really wish I would stop growing now.

 

I can easily pass for a few years older than I am.

 

I don't think I look young, but everyone thinks I do. They say, "Take it as a blessing." I say, "Fake mustaches are a good investment."

 

I got mistaken as a 10 year old at a restaurant. x.x It was awkward. I look younger than I am.

 

I'm 36 and I get mistaken for a 25 year old

 

People always sound and look so surprised when I tell them I'm going to be in university in a few short months.

 

I look older then I am, and I can also pass off as an older person. Apparently I have a 'mature' face (I have RBS) and I can also be very mature if need be. I'm 16, and people mistake me for 18 sometimes. Though, it might be cause it's surprising to see a 15 year old alone at a class full of adults.

It's annoying and funny at the same time.

 

I look like I am 10. It has its advantages.

 

People often thought I am 2-4 years younger than I really am.

 

The other day someone guessed I was 22. Felt good.

 

Yup, this is me. About 6 years ago I was carded at the liquor store...this happens sometimes, but I usually figure they probably have a policy about carding every nth customer no matter what. The clerk looked at my ID, looked at me, looked back at the ID, and said "I'm sorry...but I *never* would have guessed you are the age you are." She honestly thought I was under 21? Wow.

Just a few months ago, a 17-year old and a mid-20's person commented on photos of me, and both said I didn't look much over 30 to them.

I hope I can handle the transition out of this phase, 'cause it's kinda nice.

 

I do look younger - it runs in my family. Once when I was 22 or 23 I was mistaken for a 14-year-old

 

Last weekend I was asked by two genuinely clueless academic staff whether I was looking at undergraduate or postgraduate studies. They really couldn't tell if I was in my teens or my early twenties.

In the evening of that same day, however, I had a wine glass swiftly removed from my place by a waiter without question, so clearly I don't always pass as above 18 years old.

I think I look my age, give or take a year.

 

It is very disappointing when people mistake me for being younger than I am. I'm actually in my early 20s but I'm often mistaken for someone who looks about 16-18. There are some positives but the negatives such as being refused pub entry because I look too young for entry if HIGHLY disappointing --- and having to be constantly checked for ID. I have a different ID since I used to live abroad, so most of the time establishments will not take the ID (even though its official) because they think its fake.

 

I'm 18, soon to be 19, and people still think I look 12. I hate it so much.

 

I'm 18 years old and people say I look my age. But as soon as I go to ex Spain or the US, people think I look 30-35.... I hate that

 

I'm 17 but look like I'm 13,14? Tragic.

 

I'm 20 and they call me "dad" on my hall. *shivers*

 

Oh yes... I'm 20. I'm mistaken for a teenager all the time. Part of it's because I'm FTM. I'm young enough where I can still sort of get away with the "I'm a late bloomer" excuse but that's already starting to push it.
