LGBT News Homophobic bakery sends apologies to LGBTQ organization

Judging from the IMDB reviews of audacity, he's already known as a scumbag; even more when you realize that almost all the good "reviews" are done by spam accounts, to hilariously little payoff though.

 

Considering all the trouble they've caused and all the money they were forced to pay out I'd be surprised if they didn't spit in the cake, hopefully that's all they did. This probably is about promoting the movie though. I haven't seen it but apparently it shows gay people saying they weren't really born gay and it is a choice, or some crap like that.

 

I thought I was going to see some progression here, but no, it's a case of "here's a cake.... And a DVD of why we think you're disgusting"

The thing about Christians is that THEY TRULY BELEIVE WE'RE GOING TO HELL. So yes, in their fundamental insanity I can understand why they think the film was a gesture of kindness. But, without going too angry atheist, the fundamental problem with both religious people and this film is that they come at the world with the mindset "God exists" rather than "If God exists". Honestly, it could be worse though. At least we weren't pictured as baby eaters or whatever we're being accused of these days.

 

I think it's worse than merely thinking God exists. It's also saying every word of the bible is the word of God (even though it was written by men thousands of years ago and a lot of versions were left out) and is to be taken literally. Every word that is that is not inconvenient for them.

 

As a Christian, it makes me cringe. It wasn't a genuine apology. They just don't get it that sending that movie along with the cake is an insult.

If they want to build bridges to the gay community, they should treat them as equals and try to understand their hearts and the heart of God towards gays. They should also study and interpret the scriptures regarding homosexuality with some integrity, not a Grade 6 Sunday School level of exegesis.

All I can do is say Ray Comfort & Co. do not represent my beliefs nor the beliefs of many other Christians in today's world.

 

Sigh... As a Christian, I kind of understand the mindset of "we love you, but we don't want you to burn in hell forever and ever so..." but at the same time, the "movie" (it's not even an hour long) is available for free on youtube so... idky someone would want a copy of it, and I also don't really trust that cake... and then a gift card to a place they picked? I'd be worried I'd be pounced on by bigots when I went there T.T

I think I'll probably watch it just to see what their standpoints are~ One of the most powerful weapons a person can have is the knowledge of their enemies~ ^.^

 

I'm confident that they knew it was insulting. They are doing this for publicity both for themselves and the movie. They knew exactly how we'd react, and they are likely enjoying the fact that people are offended. It gives them a chance to feel self-righteous.

That is why you don't respond in anger, you respond the way I instructed. You send other movies that you want to promote back to them.
